I need some help with SCII. Currently looking for answers from experienced users that know what they are talking about, ty.

I have a GTX260 and it should be able to run it at ultra, my friends have a lesser and older graphic card and they can run on ultra, but if I want it to be smooth I have to run it on medium on some settings. I really love the graphics of SCII so I don't get why this is for me. Info right here:

Have you tried disabling V-Sync, that usually helps some.. Trying disabling DD and D3D to see if that helps. It's been awhile since I had to tweak a card, but that's usually what I started with.. I usually run ATI, I don't know how you view your card settings, but there should be a place that you can adjust the Anti-Aliasing and such.. Try tweaking those until you find your desired results.. Also try dropping your resolution in the game menu, start at 1024x768 and working your way up until it gets choppy, then drop it back down one. ( I know it sounds horrible, but do what you gotta do)

EDIT: Oh yea, and always check to make sure you have the latest drivers, which I assume you do

It's not about lower your settings or whatever, I've seen plenty of people running maxed out with a GTX 260 on 60+ fps I assume the issue is either driver related or heat related maybe?

Prolly V-Sync. You should ONLY use it if your monitor is a CRT or you run 59hz.

V-Sync just removes the maxfps 60 right? I do not even get above that and i cant find the setting :/

EDIT: I figured Id have to do it through nvidia panel.. Does anyone use the antialiasing to get a smoother look? Its not that smooth at the moment.

V-Sync synchronizes your framerate with your monitors refresh rate. Reduces tearing, but in an rts, that doesn't matter so much

It also decreaes your frame rate even if below the refresh rate as it only does one frame per .01 seconds (if refresh rate is 60Hz) instead of doing as many as it can whenever it can.
