Something is severely wrong with my computer =( When I play starcraft 2 it will randomly freeze and say a file is corrupted. If i tab out of the game I cant get back in, it'll blackscreen and taskmaster says its not responding. When i play WoW it'll randomly blackscreen as well. Sometimes I can hear the computer in the background so it seems as if its just the visual part? The only way to fix this is to hard restart a couple times. I know nothing about computers but im guessing its something to do with drivers, ive tried to install stuff but i dont know if its the right ones. If someone has the time to look at my spec's and tell me exactly which driver or what not and where to get it ( not just a general website cause there are 500 options once there and im retarded) ill love u forever.
First off, post your motherboard make and model. If its a store bought PC, post its make and model. You are missing all kinds of drivers: -Intel Chipset Driver. None appeared installed. -Intel Rapid Storage Driver (SATA/RAID/ACPI drivers). -Newest Marvell LAN driver. I can't really track down more driver updates until you tell me what kinda of machine you got. Don't worry about the specs and crap, just make and model of the computer (or motherboard if its homebuilt). If you updated your AMD video drivers from a previous version, read this guide on the proper method of driver updating. When you post your computer/motherboard make and model here, please post an updated dxdiag (with new drivers installed) and run it in 64-bit mode by pressing the "Run 64-bit DXDiag" button.
Thank you for taking your time, I really appreciate it. My computer is homemade. I installed everything on the CDs that came with the computer. Motherboard: Asus P6T Deluxe v2 1366.... (cant see the rest of the numbers as i copied the info from the packing list that was cut off) 1. The intel Chipset driver is installed. 2. Intel Rapid storage driver - A window pops up saying my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements and wont let me install. 3. Marvell LAN -Downloaded it and all of a sudden my internet wouldn't work after it was extracted. I deleted the new installation and right clicked on the LAN driver (?) and hit the option to search for update online which came back successful. Attached is an updated dxdiag in what i assume is a 64 bit version ( pressed the button) although it looks the same. Thanks again!!
Couldn't remember whether or not i updated the video drivers, but if I did, I did not uninstall the old first, so redid the video driver. I did this after the dxdiag
I apologize for the long wait for a response. I've had some personal issues I had to sort threw. This is the website for your Asus PT6 Deluxe V2 motherboard. Go to the downloads tab and download the following: -Click plus next to utility and find "ASUS Update V7.17.17" and download and install this. This should tell you about any BIOS and driver updates for your machine. I am going to wager that the audio driver will be something it will want to date, because the one you have installed appears to be a beta driver which predates Windows 7 RTM release. An updated BIOS seems to solve some stability issues to... so that could be the root cause of all your evil system problems. -If the ASUS Update doesn't find your missing drivers, go to the SATA section and download "Marvell 88SE6111 SATA Controller Driver V1.2.0.69 for Windows 7 & Windows 64bit 7." Then go to The CHIPSET section and downloading "Intel Chipset Inf Update Program V9.1.1.1014." After that is installed, you should finally be able to install the Rapid Storage driver. For whatever reason, I haven't seen ICH10 series Intel drivers in the driver I linked too.. I better download and dig and see WTF that is. You have several drivers installed that are dated before Windows 7 RTM. For future reference, I would NEVER EVER install anything off ANY driver disc, and I just head straight for the motherboards website and downloading from there.
Thank you yet again for you help!! I just did everything you told me, this is how it went down: 1. Went to your Asus website link. Downloaded ASUS Update V7.17.17. Unzipped and started the setup. A window popped up immediately saying PC Probe II Setup is performing the requested operations (progression bar 100%) I did not have to approve on anything or click anything else, eventually it went away. I assumed success. 2. Continued on to install the Rapid storage driver. Says i still do not meet the minimum requirements. 3. Assumed failure with the first installment of the Asus Update V7.17.17. 4. Tried installing the Marvell SATA. After the setup and all was done a window popped up saying it did not install properly and gave me two options; it was done right or choose to reinstall at the recommended place. I choose the later. After installment a window popped up saying: Asus Setup does not support this Operating System WNT_6.OH_64_MCE 5. Continued on with installing the Chipset. Window popped up declaring: This computer contains software version 9.1.1.1025 which is newer than the version you are about to install. Are you sure you want to overwrite the current software with the older version 9.1.1.1014. I choose not to. 6. Rapid storage driver attempt two. Failure, same message saying I do still not meet minimum requirements. Attached a new DXDiag. Did I manage to get something new installed or what am I doing wrong here.
