TIP : You can be 3-5 people at the same time with the same CD-Key on BattleNet. That is security! Or maybe a clever ruse by Blizzard to have more people play their game. Just like Microsoft doing nothing about pirated version of windows, it's all about accessibility.
While it's true you can have multiple accounts with the same CD-Key only ONE user at a time is allowed on Bnet per cd-key.
Yeah that was changed recently I believe. I've been playing with 1 Cd-Key with 2 friends of mine for 9 years. Tried it like 1 week ago and we got showed the way out of battle.net XD
Actually it has been around for a while. I was able to get on a few times but Battle.Net kept getting the best of me so I don't know how you were able to bypass it. Something good though is that you can use the same CD key as other people but on different Battle.Net gateways.
Yeah I don't know either, I can swear that I was playing with 4 friends on the same B.net game with the same Cd-Key. The 5th people that tried to log on b.net was auto-kicking randomly one of the 4 others. After some testing we found out that the disconnect was due to new player arrival on B.net. Anyway, it's not like that anymore. Good thing for Blizzard. Last time we were 4 was like 2-3 years ago. Then 2-3 weeks ago we tried 2 players and it did not work
I tried to play online with somone with the same key as me and it didnt work.. but when i got a 3rd person it worked sum how... IONNO
Don't mean to hijack this thread here, but... I've recently been trying to get onto B.Net, via Starcraft Classic. For some reason, whenever I attempt to log in, I get a message saying that my CD Key has been diactivated. Any reasons for this? I know I lent my CD Key out way back in the day, but I am not actually trying to get online at the same time as said friends are. So, any ideas? And, sorry if the answer is blatantly obvious. I r teh noob.
It means someone used a bot on your account and the key got muted. Then they contacted Blizzard and got a new key. Your key was deactivated.
Most of those are already used, and registered. You probably were hacking or one of the other people.
Me? Haxxorz? I lol'd. Seriously though, that sucks. Ah well, lesson learned. Hopefully I can track down a new copy, get good at the game before SC2 comes on out. Maybe then I'll be able to kick Willy's ass.
Want the truth? Keep playing SC1 but don't go overboard. Improving at SC1 is not going to directly translate to SC2. Focus on being able to play SC2 a lot. Sure, if you're better at SC1 you will have a boost at SC2, but it's not going to guarantee your supremacy. Plus not like your practice is going to mean I won't pwn you.
