Will Starcraft 2 strategy guides be done up for the game? You know the ones from the big brands you can buy at places like EB and the like. I have the strategy guides for SC and BW. And would like to know if SC2 ones are in the works. If so I will probably get a good one. Thanks .
I'm sure they will end up making one sooner or later. The problem with those guides though is that they are rarely updated. Plus once you buy the hard copy you'll have to buy another one later to keep up with all the changes the game will undertake. You may be better off buying an online version written by someone who really knows the game. Just find one that is reputable and gives free updates, that way you won't have to keep buying guides to keep up with the changes.
Or, the cheap way, keep reading forums! Tactics develope in the community, they're mostly pulled up by the "big players", will be discussed in forums like this and you can keep track of the development. This way you even learn more (may help you a lot in the unique situations you'll surely will encounter - where no guide helps you at all since they are more or less written in concepts like "if your enemy does this - do this")....
I agree with both posts. But I buy them for their collectors value. I like having my stack of game guides I have. But for up to the second info sure I'll always turn to these forums.
There's already one in the making by Brady Games. Not sure which brand you prefer, but they have a Limited Edition copy for preorder - seems perfect for you.
It baffles me that strategy guides are still being bought in lieu of using sites like GameFAQs. Not only are they a waste of money, but most of the time the information is either outdated or incomplete (at least from my experience).
collectors value. according to our sidebar advertisement, there are at least 3 already. None of them reputable though
there's pretty much guaranteed to be one... and it'll probably be bundled in when the SC2 battlechest comes out. also, it will be probably only cover the single-player. that's the only component that won't be changed (drastically) with patching. Any multiplayer advice will probably be outdated at launch, especially with all the new strategies coming out and the Day 0 patch.
Yeah, that, too. As mentioned, though, it's really more for collectors than for actual guide value. Walkthroughs and strategy guides are easy enough to come by on the internet.
