The only "similarity" I found was perhaps that worm (nydus).

Obviously you're suffering from the I-see-Starcraft-everywhere syndrome.

...the orangey-yellow terrain is almost the same colour of starcraft desert terrain?

Finally knowing the release date of StarCraft II must have gotten to his head. Poor fellow.

Also, seems like this thread should be Junk'd, or at least put in the "Other Games" section.

I'm not sure how they designed the characters of starcraft to begin with, but I see A LOT of similarities with ancient Egypt and Sumeria (and it's theories) and the Protoss. Does anyone else see this or is it just me? Even down to the point where the way void rays fly around fluid/thermo dynamically like a school of fish to the energy fields of pylons!

    oh an also STARSHIP TROOPERS!

    There's similarities.

    The enemies are bug like.
The player may use a buggy unit with a flame thrower.
Minerals growing from a ground are some sort of resource.
The music is reminiscent of SC music if you ask me.

But I don't think it really means anything. They are in the desert and a big worm poped out of the ground. Could this have something to do with Dune or Tremors?

    Nah, just cool scifi ****.

Go look up war40k for more comparisons to SC. Just do yourself a favor and read the lore too so you know how not alike the two worlds are.

Other than the similarities that both have with Roaches, that's a big negative.

    - a zergling sprite......somewhere.
