StarCraft 2 Re-Concepts

My own concept art for various StarCraft 2 units. I'll do more later.

For the siege tank it basically just changes the barrels of the gun automatically using rails and large servo motors and the legs just go straight down because people seem to like that the siege tank has legs. I tried to make it make as much sense in the real world rather than making something even more ridiculous then what the current SC1 --> SC2 siege tank trend is.

For the banshee it is a cross from a fighter concept I made over a decade ago and the banshee. My old fighter concept was based on an attack helicopter which is why I chose that for this project. Personally I like the banshee a lot but since there have been lots of comments saying it is too much like the Orca from C&C, I made this one. As you can see it still has rockets but the rotors have been replaced by two jet engines behind the cockpit/below the tail.

i like the idea of the seige tank having legs go slamming straight down into the ground, seems alot more stabilizing

i think the banshee should have some sorta speed boost upgrade like ur jets, so it can get in, bomb, then get out. im not too fond of the "invisible bomber" idea, seems like either
a.) the enemy doesn't have detectors and u bomb the piss out of em or
b.) they do have detectors and get torn up

Very nice remodels...I'm afraid they aren't gonna remake the tank again though :(

Alright. I drew this with a common pencil right after I read your post, so I know it could have been better, yet photoshoping and such bores me.

This is what I think should be the unit's background, you know for the manual and stuff:
"Athought the trampling terrors of the zerg known as the ultralisks were capable to torn apart almost any ground enemy unit with unmatched ease, it ocurred that the heavy mammoths were an easy target for both terran and protoss artillery and air strikes, and when appropiately contained they could do nothing but fight against minor "cannon fodder" like marines or zealots while being pummeled by tank or dragoon fire. It was because of this that the Queen of Blades herself decided that the swarm required such a heavy assault beast, yet it needed to be more flexible and agile at the expense of its brutal mass. Therefore after a relative short period of experimentation and mutations on Kerrigan's most advanced hive clusters, the Highlander was born. A genetical crossing between the hydralisk and the ultralisk, it has become a most feared abomination by the enemies of the swarm, for its ability to enter and exit battle completely ignoring the topograpy has earned him his name. Its skill to climb cliffs with amazing speed an ease has made him a feared harasser, able to infiltrate an enemy base to strike at key targets like resource gatherers or anti air structures."

Just as terrans have reapers and protoss have stalkers, the zerg have this new unit for base infiltration.

200 hp, 15 normal damage per attack (normal speed). +2 upgrades and 1 base armor. The ability to climb cliffs requires a lair to be researched. Hmm the cost is 250 /150 and takes 3 control.

By the way, it aint a re concept, but its sorta based on old units.

@ lemmy is it small or big? cross between an ultra and hydra? i hope that is bigger than a tthor.

anyway i prefer a zerg cliff climber to be small not ultralsik like. a lurker or something.

nice drawing. good job. yes spider like unit for the zerg!

I just looked up the Orca from C&C and i think the banshee looks much better...
    but cool concepts.
I like how your concept tank is a bit more compact instead of the long look.

The zergling guy looks sweet, and the climbing up cliffs and stuff would be a great base raper!

Yeah I wanted to retain some of the classic look and have it make sense realistically.

For the cobra I wanted to give it a more aggressive and dangerous look while not making it seem like it should be a super speedy craft as I think it will probably be a medium speed unit. Also, I wanted the basic shape of it to resemble a coiled up cobra with it's head sticking out and instead of pouncing on its target, it fires its massive rail guns.

Paragon, I must say that the Cobra concept is most excellent. That's sort of exactly what I had in mind as "problematic" with the one Blizzard's got. Even the vulture seemed more menacing than the current Cobra. I think u'rs adds a lot more attitude and aggressiveness to it. Schweet d00d.
