Hey guys, I want to buy Starcraft 2, but I have a few questions to clear up before doing so. I live in Taiwan (Asia), but I don't really know how to speak/read Chinese etc... If I buy the game here, will it be in Chinese? Or will I be able to switch the language? Is the language of the game determined from the region set on your battle.net account? Also, will there be gateways like Starcraft 1 (North America, West America, Asia etc..) or will I automatically connect to Chinese servers (I dont really want to connect to Chinese servers). Hoping for some responses.
No real evidence...but. I would assume anything you buy in a store will be a Taiwanese version. You could probably order or ebay a US or Euro version online.
Go to Blizzard.com (not Blizzard.co.tw or whatever) and get the digital version. Should be enUS with North American servers.
At first, yes regions will be closed. They said that will change in the future. Don't know when. Fenix makes an excellent point.
Wow, thats slightly disappointing. I hope they unlock the region lock very soon. Do you have any articles that link to what you have just stated? Thanks for the reply.
Thanks a lot for finding the article! Blizzard usually does what they say, I'm sure they'll develop something to help people like me
