    StarCraft II Q&A - Batch 35

Q&A 35 has been released and is overflowing with gameplay
changes. The Phase Cannon is no longer mobile, but the mechanic has
been switched to the Zerg. Also, the Mothership has been relegated to a
    support unit's status.

Overall a great Q&A for this week, always love to see more info! Enjoy!*

Despite seeing all three factions, there are
still many changes being made to all factions which continue to finesse
    the gameplay of StarCraft II.

Furthermore, if you are reading this batch, and love StarCraft,
    show everyone! For the "I

The Mothership could cloak other units in the build before, so why would they not have mentioned a change to it in the MS section?

They probably didn't mention the medivac since they are currently working on it.

And what about the Queen? Karune said on Bnet just recentely that the Queen still constructs all defenses, don't worry.

Well, the ability to warp units straight to the mothership makes a lot of sense and sounds really cool. I wonder if it's an MS ability that costs energy or the MS has permanent psi field... either way, I like it very much, along with the energy transfer of it. But FFS, why remove all the really cool abilities? I'm fine without black hole even though I liked it. But no time bomb?! I know it's very subjective but that was my favourite ability because it looked really nice and the mechanic and lore behind it suited the Protoss very well.

Zerg defensive buildings back, I like. Them moving is another thing. I always wondered why other Protoss buildings can't move the same way cannons could, and this question remains for the Zerg. What's different with the defensive buildings compared to others? Especially for the sunken... it's deeply rooted in the ground to make it soft and to allow its tentacle to protrude easily.

I didn't like this batch because it was poorly presented (j/k ;)), because there is no screencraft, and because the time bomb got the axe.

Good find, but not a very good batch IMO. Is the queen removed? I thought it would play a big role in the campaign...

If the queen is removed, I will no longer like the zerg more than the protoss. If the sunks and spores are back, are they made with drones, or still produced by the queen?

Phase cannons no longer mobile? That's the only thing that made the protoss defense unique.

So Worms now can move through space, which means they likely move through rivers as well.
Zerg got all the good stuff lately :(

I disagree. While the batch did open up a host of new questions, I thought it was a great batch. We found out a whole lot of new information.

I really like the idea of crawling Zerg defenses, as it fits perfectly with the Zerg. I'm glad though that Zerg defense is still Queen-centered (my favorite new mechanic in Starcraft II). I do wonder though what they will do to the Phase Cannon to make it so Protoss defense doesn't play exactly the same.

I quite liked this batch, Swarm Clutches just didn't cut it, and it does make sense for Zerg to have moving static defense because they are Zerg :D

Also for you Reaper lovers, is it not good news that they've finally realized how to use Reapers effectivly, since it sounded like they was going to get cut at one point :D

The new Mothership change is also to my liking, you could say its an upgraded Phase Prism/Arbitor.

I'm pissed that people asked sucky questions, some of the questions such as the first one had already been answered.
It would've been more helpful if they asked:
What is the Roaches regen rate
    Explaination of the Colossus attack
Does the Medivac heal loaded units
How does MBS and Automining affect the races in the current build

Also note on the Nydus worm question, they never said yes you can attack, they said if you place detectors in strategic places will stop you from being suprised.

But all in all the first section and Mothership part is good. The questions pretty much sucked.

With the zerg having moving defences do we now how fast they go, where they can go and how far can they go. I see a funny base rush emerging :)

I was interested when Blizzard did say when the Nydus Worm could travel through space because I'm wondering how they will make it look. Blizzard even said they don't know how to make it look. I'm very happy that Blizzard decided to put Sunken Colonies and Spore Colonies back because now the Zerg don't have to rely on the Queen early in the game anymore. Blizzard made the right decision, except that now the phase cannons have no significant ability anymore. Blizzard will need to come up with something.

wrong, the queen builds them, so they still need the queen for base defenses.

I think what hes saying is if the Queen dies you can move the defense in a better position durnig her absense and inability to create more defense.

I have an idea for the Phase Cannons, allow them to channel shield points to any other cannon. Everything is explained for its self as you can imagine the Pros and Cons, a few being, they channel 50% to the Cannons on the frontline then fast units own the cannons with less shields, the pro of that is the fact you can protect specific cannons against certain attacks, for example if the cannon is getting sieged, supply it with shields but at the risk of weaker cannons behind the frontline.
