Starcraft 2 postponed? (Rumour)

I think its BS, but the diablo fans seem to believe it.

 

Well seeing as they haven't set a release date yet, I dunno how it can be postponed. About Diablo3 being released first, I'm a bit sceptical. Didn't they say they'd only completed like, three of the zones for Diablo3? Then again, we've seen nothing of the StarCraft2 campaigns, so they could still have a long way to go. Then again, they were still just testing some ideas for the inventory, etc, in the last BlizzCast, so who knows.

Personally, I don't reckon releasing Diablo3 first will mean much at all. They're two different games with two different teams. Just because one was announced however many months earlier, it doesn't mean that it should be released the same number of months earlier, it just shows that there's a significant difference between when they're comfortable showing us each game and when they're comfortable releasing each game.

 

wait, these two games were in production for several years, so the schedule is years old as well, it cant be postponed if the blizz people always knew D3 would come first, right?

 

Starcraft Multiplayer is almost completed and needs finishing, Single player they were done with Terran Campaign at WWI. 1/3 of Single player was playable back then.

Diablo they are still working on act1, I'm not sure if it is completed or not, but they are working really hard on it since Act 1 is one of the most important part of the game. <- D3 Lead designer said that, can't remember the exact words, pretty recent though.

The only thing about D3 is that we do not know if they are done with the 3 other classes and how advanced is the skill tree fro everyone. At WWI they said that no skill tree was done yet and they were still deciding what type of skill tree to use.

So SC2 should definitely come out before D3. If D3 comes out first I'd be surprise if the quality is like the usual Blizzard's standard.

 

Good... The more StarCraft 2 is worked on the more it will kick ass. Besides, if StarCraft 2 was released only a only a little more than a year later then I would never get to play it as much as I want because of StarCraft 2.

The only way I think fans could consider the postponement in the releasing of a title which release date has not been published yet is that they fancy into their own official release date.

And then get disappointed.

Well, if this is true then the game has been post-poned even though the game had no release date. Blizzard has said many times that StarCraft 2 will debut Battle.net 2.0 so that means that it was meant to come first.. If this is true, then if has been post-poned so that Diablo 3 will debut Battle.net 2.0

 

Now how come my Xel'Naga research got dumped on but this got accepted?

This sounds a whole lot more shaky to me than my Xel'Naga story in that there's no way they would want SC2 to come out anywhere near Diablo 3. Bad business.

How do you know they didn't have an internal date? How do you know they didn't postpone StarCraft 2 from the estimated date of "Before Diablo III"?

@ Tychus. If they have got an internal date, it'd probably just be for reference. Just a rough estimation of when they should be ready. Seeing as it wouldn't be an official date, and would fluctuate a fair bit, I wouldn't call delaying that a postponement. Also, I very much doubt they'd pitch one game against the other and consciously plan on releasing one before the other, as they're very much just a we-will-release-it-when-it's-done type company. I remember them saying Wrath would be released on the fifth of When-It's-Done.

@ HatedSphere. Unless Blizzard was hit with several massive EMP's, I don't think there would be anything that could simply erase all that data. Even the EMP's shouldn't really do that much... Apart from completely destroying each and everyone of their computers, etc... Regardless, they'd have to still have the physical data. Jeez, which you going on about that and marinefreak questioning what would happen if Blizzard went bankrupt, I'm starting to smell a cover-up.

@ Tychus, again. I seem to recall someone here might have said something along those lines. It'd be pretty awesome, eh? The most elaborate prank ever, so elaborate it even includes its own April Fool's jokes. Haha. I'd laugh. Not sure if 99.9% of Blizzard's fans would, but I certainly would.

 

well i dont like how it might be postponed, it already has been a few times.

but i also wish for the game to be the best so i will wait patiently for the game to come out.

What I heard was that it would most likely come out early next year. I believe that was from blizzard. But don't know, because I don't remember where if found it.
