Do Starcraft 2 patches have to be installed in order to install the latest patch? I'm currently installing the disc version of starcraft 2, but have downloaded the latest (March 15th, 2011 checked) SC2 patch which is at version 1.2.2, and it's 289MB in size. Could I just run this patch right after the installation and it will patch or I'm suppose to start from 1.0.1 and incrementally install? Any help on this is appreciated. I looked at the Blizzard support site for this answer but have not found it.
Did you do a system restore or something? If not I'm not sure why else you'd have a SC2 patch without having the actual game installed...
