I was wondering what you guys thought of them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh9RQYHjTb0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP9_uIirKVY
...I honestly only got through the first minute of it for a few reasons... It isn't...bad persay but if your going to commentate you need to have the energy into it got to hype it up sound exciting yet at the same time giving good information.. Now this part is just going to sound ****ish but don't interpret it that way... 1. to Be a great commentator you just need a good voice for it (sorry your voice is just annoying but thats why I dont commentate myself for the same reason i HATE my voice imo) A perfect example is the dude who does the Bud Light and now QT radio commercials they are funny..but they are mainly funny because of the SOLID delivery. Now with that said Im not saying dont commentate because of your voice a good solution for that is to have a partner, if you notice most commentators work in pairs for that reason. 2. In that first minute alone you sound really nervous and uneasy which practice makes perfect. Overall it needs work but we dont all start off as badasses at everything we do right?
ummm. I think I do have quite a good voice maybe its because I'm not white and english is not my first langauge.
I disagree. Plenty of great commentators are calm. You don't have you **** a brick when a probe builds a pylon to prevent zerg from expo-ing. Voice is immortant though, but that comes with practice, and listening to yourself. Keep it up!
I though the voice was perfectly fine to be honest, not a problem at all. One thing I noticed though that could help you out is having better overall knowledge of the game, and that will come with time. Knowing map names, building names, famous players to reference, alternate strategies to the ones being displayed (and the merits of those), potential situations that could have occurred but didn't (and why) stuff like that, it adds some spice to the commentary and makes it more entertaining than just describing what is going on. If you watch some famous commentators you will find that they have two modes, when watching a replay it is much more information and facts but while commenting on a live match they go towards more "___happened so we can see ____, ____, or ____" And finally, the hardest part, keeping your commentary crisp, slowing down if you have less to say or something difficult to get through etc.
