LegionHardware recently tested hardware configurations on the new Starcraft 2 beta. They wrote a 6 page article discussing what they used and their conclusions. Link below. HTML: http://www.legionhardware.com/articles_pages/starcraft_ii_wings_of_liberty_beta_performance HTML:
Too bad I don't know how laptop cards compare to what they tested. If I'm looking at my devices correctly, my laptop has a Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family. I assume this would fit around the low end of what they tested, though that would mean I could still play on lower res/settings. My laptop is also a duel core, so I know I pass that part of their tests.
What is the opposite of maxium suckage? What is what the 6 page article its. Thay got some very decent results from some lower end graphics cars and this is on crazy high screen resolution and high graphics settinfgs for SC2. Which is amazing really. Blizzard can make a game that will look really good on so many different machines. This further suports my belief that most people will be able to get a decent fps (read roughly 30fps+) on meduim settings or better in SC2. And for the few poor souls with computers from the dinosaur age they have low settings. Sure low is bad. But it's not as bad as people make out. And it means almost everyone will be able to play SC2. I think this topic should be stickied and put in the SC2 beta section.
Cool. I should have no problems then to run this on Ultra settings, 1900x1280 widescreen resolution. Although probably I'll keep AA/AF disabled to keep my FPS over 30. Especially on multiplayer.
looks like a 5770 is good enough for ultra/1920x1080. and it'll be cheap by the time the game comes out. wohoo! gaming on an HDTV ftw.
