Looks like Activision's trying to put some ads in Starcraft 2. Personally I would kill them if they tried this. On bnet it would be fine but if they had actual crap in-game like a huge billboard showing a Coca-Cola ad that would suck. Imo they should only do it when they're parodying something, not as a moneymaker. Read more here
Gaming should never be left to the big publishing companies IMO. Developers like Blizzard are always the best.
Karune has already made Blizzard's stance clear on this subject. You should do more research on a topic before starting a thread with an inflammatory subject such as this. ]http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.aspx?FN=sc2-general&T=628590&P=2[/url]
If Activision were to place in-game advertisements in StarCraft 2, they would totally be out of place and irrelevant. Anyone ever heard of a Taco Bell in the Koprulu Sector? Didn't think so. It is most likely referring to Battle.net just like Karune said. If that is the case, Activision will probably be seeing more money made with pay-per-click advertising especially with a huge, established user base.
You are right about thay Imagine, or would they make selectable billboards in the game which open a new internet browser screen during the game? : They can't make much money out off in-game advertising in any game, products change all the time and the payment for an advert is one time only. Companies paying more and more money over time to advert on battle.net seems to be a much better way to make money.
