SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Avatar: The last air bender cartoon sequel http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i588547861bb321c921359f726bd135bb The story sounds a bit odd, but I have no doubt it will fit in just fine
When I saw this I thought it was a sequel to the movie. *facepalm* BUT IT'S A SEQUEL TO THE ANIMATED SERIES YAY! I loved that show so much.
...So does this mean that being an Avatar doesn't require specific ancestry? Also, what happens to the previous Avatar's powers? Do they suddenly lose the ability to bend all of elements when the next Avatar is born?
I guess Aang is dead at this point. otherwise a new avatar wouldnt have been bord Which seems odd, because people with a lot of Ki should live a lot longer then normies. Bumi became over a hundred, and Aang would only have become 72 years old. Maybe the time he was frozen counted as well?
Well according to that link Aang's son Tenzin is/was an Avatar, yet this new girl Korra will be learning bending from him. If the previous Avatar has to be dead for the new one to be born (as we've been led to believe) then that makes no sense at all. It could also mean that Korra is Tenzin's illegitimate daughter, which would make things a even weirder. Aang would technically be 182-183 years old at the beginning of the series if he was alive. I guess longevity is more of an Earthbender thing than an Avatar thing, since Bumi was 112 years old in the series and Avatar Kyoshi lived to be 230 years old. That doesn't really explain Guru Pathik though :arghh:
Do we even have an indication of Pathik's age besides him wearing air nomad-like clothing? Toph should still be alive then anyways. Also, it says the son of previous avatar aang, not the previous avatar son of aang, I think.
