it is hardcore customizable :thumbup:
its like age of empires on steroids
here are the ages

1 cell - you feed on other cells and floating particles

2 animal - you are on land now and look for food and you can eat other animals

3 tribe - you create a town with your tribe

4 civilization - you start to create your own city, then you progress to create and customize your own vehicles, planes and boats

5 space - you just conquered your world so now you are going to conquer the galaxy, you create your own space shuttle and fly around fighting or making peace

this game was on the Top 8 Must Buy 08 Games in the PCGamer magazine
along with starcraft

There's a pretty solid chance it'll release sometime mid 2008.

I've been waiting for it since May 2005, so it will have been a 3-year wait if it releases when I think it will.

 

Yes, I heard of it. It looks great! I'll buy it as soon as it comes out.

Yea I've been tracking spore for some time now, I had very high hopes for a early 2007 release (which was moved to late 2007). I temporarily bailed out of the hype after the most recent announcement came about the delay to 2008......... After a few months i can't seem to get back into it...........

can anyone describe the game description to me?

 

you start as a single (few?) celled organism and evolve by eating competition. Eventually you leave water, find mate and start building civilization, which wil then colonize the planet, and move on to space conquest.
Something like that

 

If this comes out before SC2 I'll be playing this for the wait.

It's kind of like Black & White and to an extent Sim City. At least, that's what I'd compare it to.

 

Spore is very difficult to describe.

This game looks to me as if it will be about as good *gasp* as sc2, in my opinion.
