Yup, it's official, Sonic is in. He was one of the most clamored-for characters by fans, but I have to say it is going to be very strange seeing the mascot of a former competitor playing for one of Nintendo's biggest games.
Well Solid Snake is in, and he isn't Nintendo, so I don't see why Sonic is all that shocking since Sega just makes games now.
It is kinda strange having Sonic there. I had a sega genisis rather than a super nintendo. I have found memories of Sonic but don't care that much about Mario. Seeing Sonic go over to the dark side is quite depressing. Oh well, if I ever play the game I'll just play as Sonic and hunt down Mario.
My wish list for characters still unconfirmed: 1. Mega Man 2. Ridley 3. Lil' Mac and, of course, the standard returning characters like Cpt. Falcon and Game & Watch. I still think Ness has a chance to be in, despite Lucas being revealed. I reserved my copy of this game about a month ago. Call me a nerd if you must. It may be the only game ever that I've been more pumped about pre-release than *holds breath* SCII. Blasphemy, I know. But god, does it look amazing. My friends and I STILL play Melee all the time. Oh, and Metaknight? Pschah. Pit and Pokemon Trainer FTMFW.
Sakurai seemed to imply that any third-party franchises (Metal Gear Solid, Sonic the Hedgehog, etc) would be getting the one-character treatment. Of course, he also seemed to imply that no more third-party characters would be released after Snake, so take that for what you will. I'd say Knuckles is the only other character with a strong chance, though. Unless they make Shadow a clone. Which I pray they don't. If they DO do this, bring on Raiden from Metal Gear Solid. Ultimate ninja badassery.
Just think about it! Sonic v. Mario v. Link, the ultimate showdown between game mascots!!! SSBB will be awesome, I really thought Sonic's down + B would have been his Bounce attack though. I think Knukles and Tails have the possibility of being assist trophies. Anyone agree?
The dreamcast was a good system, but the PS2 was more popular for the majority of gamers I never had a DC, so I'm not sure exactly how good it was.
Hmmm...interesting bit of news, I thought he would make it though. My character is still Cpt. Falcon (if he's in) or Pit I've decided that Apple is just gonna take the next step and decide to make their iGame or whatever it's gonna be called. Why not? They're already doing the iCar
