If you watch the laser that targets the nuke, you can note 3 arrows on the outside that slowly move toward the center. When they reach the center, the nuke hits!

yeah, i noticed that two, and as the nile slowly gets closer to luanching the all converge inwards, its so much better than the little blinking 4 pixel red dot.

That will be helpful in SC2; I wonder though, will the opponent be able to see the nuclear crosshair? I know in the first SC, your opponents can see the dot, and sometimes, not be aware of a ghost on nuclear strike mode. If the opponent can see the crosshair in SC2, then they will definitely be aware.

i think they will remove the giant crosshair and jsut have 3 bright red dots moving in, that way you didnt really know where it was going until they get there

It looks like it comes down a little faster than the Sc1 Nuke so the fact that the enemy sees the crosshair will matter less. The only option to escape it is to kill the Ghosts. And the opponent can definitely see the crosshair because in the preview the presenter is playing Protoss, and the Terrans launch the Nuke. Looks cool too, by the way...

who said the presenter was playing?
why did the terrans nuke themselves, not once but 3 times.
    how did those banelings survive?

all of these are very important nerdy questions

^ It doesn't mean the presenter per se, but the guy playing was playing Protoss, and Terran + Zerg = enemies. I don't know whether the presenter was actually playing the game while talking or if another guy was doing it for him. Point: Crosshair = visible.

It's a show of force, for us to view the flashy colours and sparkly blood and death animations. And if they nuked themselves once, why not finish the job???

And maybe the Zerglings were just outside the blast radius OR burrowed units are immune to Nuke strikes...
I choose to believe that it's a mix of both: the blast radius is cut to 75-80% for burrowed units.

Or maybe they were just invulnerable for the demo/ ;)

Don't know about that. Units look bigger in sc 2 and if you look at the amount of units... 3 nukes in sc would have taken them out too.

Successfully launching a nuke in a Zerg's base is very difficult with all those overlords everywhere...
I think there has to be clearer indication of where to nuke strike is aimed at....in this case the arrows are a good idea, probably make it slightly smaller.

So what's your stance on the targeting crosshair? I think it's really cool, but I need a Protoss and a Zerg player's opinion.

I think it would feel better if the Terran users could see the big crosshair, while Zerg and Protoss users can only see the dot.
