Some protoss art too reminiscent of WoW

I've been watching a lot of the trailers and stuff for SC2 whenever i see some of the bigger protoss units (colossus,

mothership, etc.) remind me a bit of some of the WoW styles, especially zangarmarsh. Is it just me or does anyone else

get the same thing?

Well, I dont play WoW but StarCraft has always seemed to have it's own style. The Colossi and Motherships seem to have a very Protoss-look to them if you ask me. You should link some pictures of the things that they resemble.

They do resemble eachother a bit but im not complaining, its a winning concept so why change it?

the dark templar seems very wc-ish, running along with it's massive double edged warp blades behind it's back, looks like a bloody paladin from wc3! where's the stealth...

 

Same art designer/artist probably.

idk i really thought that the protoss colossus was really distinct, really protoss (flashy, good looking, powerful [so prob expensive as efff] ) never played wow so can't say, but the jungle art looks just a little too ... bright? i understand its suppose to be lush but eh, don't take that as a complaint.

 

Actually The Stalker reminds me of something..

 

yea the spider things that the undead have in wc3, i forget what their called.

 

They are called Crypt Fiends. I suppose the stalkers remotely resemble them...

I understand what you mean, but ive always liked the protoss skins and i love the new ones. There just screaming awesomeness. They appear just to be more like how i thought the protoss should look like, and the new mothership also. The dark templar and stuff just seems to me like it looks like a advanced technological kind of knight. I think it looks awesome

Yeh when i saw that i know were they got the idea but the design and the textures and geometry is the same but its still probably just were they got the idea and it progressed from there, where did you get the the mother ship thing?

 

guys its just artwork. The units in the game play is different. dark templars dont rlly have that armor

no. starcraft is way different from wow.

ilidan and dark tempar.
stalker and the weaver in warcraft.
colossus and that pic above.

come on... yah ofcourse there is something similar but it doesn't really mean something is bad or wrong with starcraft 2 units.
