so what happened to all our post counts

so apparently it wasnt Kerwyn(reread his post) and they just magically vanished, i was affected the most and overmind has been greatly affected as well.


question 1: what happened, who did this and why does (s)he hate me
question 2: why does Kerwyn blaim me?

Uhh... This is an awesome addition to an already great week.
I'm just slowly ceasing to care about it all

 

It only affected the people who posted in spam land (unfortuneately some people had a lot more than others). Someone, duplicated the Spam Land thread 10 times and copied it to the general disscussion board. Apparently in the proccess of removing them it took a hunk of posts out everyone who posted in there a decent amount. The list people who could have done it is very small, and beyond that the list of people who would have thought of doing it is even smaller.

EDIT: It appears a lot more people were caught in the crossfire than originally though, I am going to have to talk to Jon about what to do because I am not a database expert. Anyways, it is probably a very good bet that everyones post count should be resset to the actual amount of non-SJ posts.

 

i did think of doing it, though i did not do it

maybe it was an error of sorts, i did go to the copy thread page to see if it was possible to copy a thread to another board but i never pressed the copy thread button

You sure you didn't accidentaly do it Ijffdrie? If Spam Land was in general discussion, you would get points for every reply and view (times ten no less), explaining your sudden increase in lvl.

2. The amount of experience i had didnt increase when my bar went full. I checked

 

GMG that's is actually why I looked in the first place. I saw almost all of his old point caim from views and the only way someone could get that many views would be something like the Spam Land thread.

EDIT: Actually ijff you had about 30k exp before I removed the threads now you are down to about 12k.

EDIT #2: Becuase ijff asked here is the proof it was him.

edit#2: did this cause the database error yesterday?

 

I havn't used the thread copy feature so I can't speak a lot about it, however remember manipulating a thread of tat size requires a lot of time.

 

i once copied spam land to space junk, which took nearly 5 minutes
