Well its a given that the front end of the Nydus worm is a fearsome Zerg beast, but what does the other end of the tunnel look like, is it fair to assume that the Zerg forces will be crawling into the Nydus's worms a$$?

Well we don't even know if it's a unit or a building, or it is still in the game or not

I hope it's still in game, seeing it was one of the coolest parts of the video.

Thing is, the Nydus worm in its current state is a major balancing issue. I mean if you can non-chalantly burrow into the back of your opponents base and unleash a massive ground force, anywhere on the map. Well thats a bit more powerful then the Phase Prism's slow warp!!

I'm sure it wont work just like that. There will be a catch.

You have to place a beacon on the map where you want the nydus worm to go with some unit just like how you'd target a nuke. It's not like you could pop it up anywhere.

Yeah I'm sure that the Nydus Worm will be appropriately balanced.

But to get back on topic - I imagine that the Nydus Worm's other end will look pretty much identical to what we have seen. I always pictured it as being a two-headed worm. One end could be placed (assuming it works as a building) in your base and the other end at the target. It probably would have the same entering/exiting animation with the mouth.

That is why I wait the zerg trailer already, I can barely imagine the building, the unit and the upgrades animations. They will be nice (and ugly)

No kidding, especially considering that Blizzard usually never has cool information about any games they make, ever.

I think that both it's head and @$$ are both heads so they could disembark and enter from either head.

Wait, isn't the balancing issue already solved if the Nydus Worm can't move after it pops up? Wait nevermind. But I think it will be exactly identical on both ends seeing as how they should be able to go back and forth through the worm.

Maybe it'll start off as a kind of an egg/sack and you'll load units onto it, then when you deploy it it'll burst out of its egg and go from there.

How would you get the lings or what ever into the egg to begin with? I say it starts off as any other unit, the select a larva and the gene template, then you load the units onto it like you do with an overlord. If that's what you meant I'm sorry for the misunderstanding on my part. Then you select where one of the heads pops out at, and can be able to move the other head and just keep leap frogging from place to place. Like a mobile Nydus Canal.

The only thing i do not like is how they'll explain it for island/space platorm maps.

With nydus canals, for some odd reason I have no problem believing a structure can create some sort of "wormhole"..but with a unit (nydrus worm) i have preset ideas of the zerg units running through the gut of the nydrus worm.

Now if it's just a nydus canal with teeth..then i'm cool with that

I understand why you can't buy just some random unit being able to create a "wormhole" but come on, it's a worm, any hole it makes is a wormhole!

We're not sure how the Nydus Worm works yet. It may be that you have to manually control the head as it moves underground. In that case, it may either be limited by impassable terrain, or be shown or assumed to be passing through that terrain. In space, we can assume that it is extruding its body through the void. It might even show the body of the worm trailing behind it as it passes through space.

i think that the nydus work has to have vision in a place before it can come up there that way you will neeed a unit there so you cant just pop up in a middle of a base cause chances are that unit goin get killed but if this was mixed with the queens parasite ability (if it still is in the game) and the player doesnt catch you could be in major troble

It probably just mutates from a Drone, nothing more nothing less. And works in a similar way to the Nydus Canal, but one difference is it may be able to be used twice unlike the Nydus Canal which was permanent until destroyed.
