You'd think that the fact that every single one of their sacred family tombs being a source of demonic undead hordes would be a hint that there might just be a slight snag in their religion.
That's why my nerevarine was an atheist... He played along with the lunatics sometimes and I do believe he had an imaginary friend or two, so deffinitely some psychological issues there, probably tough childhood and jail, but other than that, yeah, that dunmer religion was a little spooky with the tons of ghosts of ancestors etc. The fact that dwemer engineers were extinct was not random either, I believe. The guys were fanatics and technophobics!
The battle of red mountain is getting kind of silly. There are so many prevalent theories about it, that every possible betrayal/team-up combination of the five factions was possible . This is even worse than the warp in the west Fun game though
Tss, scrubs. There's countless books in the game telling you what happened. Don't just read npc text only!
lol But really, all the books are from different authors as well. You'll probably want to only read the dark elven ones. Besides, in the red mountain area, there's a cave where blighted people are being treated. The last living dwarf is in there, and he has some interesting stuff to say too. Go check it out.
The last dwarf was on another plane during the battle of red mountain. From the Dunmer records there is the official version, the version told by Vivec and the three versions told by the dissident priests.
I don't trust Vivec, he said he can close his eyes for thousands of years, just thinking, and then he opens them to see that only a fraction of a second has passed in the real world. He lost his godlike powers anw after we destroyed the heart thing. Ghostgate and wall down too.
