I got the confirmation on my email.. So... When the beta starts are they gonna email it to me or do I log on to my battle.net account and dl it there. I've never done a beta before so thats why I am asking. Basically I put the key in... but I just want to know when the beta is announced where do i go? And will I need to type that key in again?

Here's what will probably happen when you get into the beta:

    1. Blizzard will email you a game key
    2. You log into the battle.net website
    3. You use the key from the email to add the beta just like you would add any other game to the account
    4. You download the client the same way you would download the SC anthology

Brief word of warning: Make sure whatever email you used to register your beta with NEVER goes inactive. I have no idea if there's any retrieval process, but you probably don't want to risk it :)

No Im saying I got one a while back (not from an email but from blizzcon.) and I entered it in for my email. I'm just wondering what to look for after I put it in. I got the email saying beta signup confirmation and all that. I'm just wondering when it goes live do I need to look in my email or look on their site.

He got a Blizzcon code which registers him on a mailing list for when beta keys go out. It's basically an IOU from Blizzard saying they will e-mail him a key once the beta starts.

Congratulations on your pending invite by the way Jshep!

Do you think that, as I won the "I love SC" contest, Blizzard will give me the chance to test the game?
I have a very good computer, able to set the full quality details of the game, mass effects, etc ... but I am a newbie.
Blizzard just cares about the gameplay so I guess I have low chance to get selected. Even, I haven't sent any registration to Blizzard to be selected for the beta test.

Anyway I am going to holiday from February 17 to March the 2. If the beta comes I will lose 2 weeks.

EDIT : I wrote i am anewbie. In fact a 'normal' player, not "THE gamer".

Er, no specs have been released yet. You can't possibly know that.

Also: why isn't this in space junk yet?

What is making people in this thread think there will be an open beta? Ever?

@Aurora: If you've got an especially high-end computer, it's safe to assume you can run the game at max settings. I definitely expect to run SC2 at max on my computer.

On the other hand, if Blizzard is using specs at all for selecting players, being at the top-end would probably reduce your chances because those high-end rigs are too common.

This isn't SCLegacy :D They probably think open beta means "open to people outside of Blizzard".

Oh. this is easy. Just do w/e the guys above say and add some more steps:
    1) SCREENSHOTS!
    2) VIDEOS OF PLAYING!!!!!!!!!
    3) all unit info, etc.
    4) repeat this over 9000 times

If I get access to the Beta I'd update my website every day with Videos, Screenshots and Info of units, GUI, Feel of the Game and also for the Single Player campaign a Let's Play StarCraft 2 kind of "walk through" with Video, ScreenShots illustration.

If I got a beta key I'd share the best screenies/videos etc with the world. But I'd be trying to find the flaws in SC2. There's already enough fanboys who would post "look at me and my beta screenshot, and suxors to be you without a beta key". I'd want to try and unobjectively and without opinion rate the games good and bad points.

That is if I got a beta key.
