but you bought a case with a PSU and the other other PSU you picked is mediocre.

Other than that it looks good.

    [sad face]

That card was like, pretty expensive. I'm not paying 400+ on a single part. I'm not that much of a geek, hehe.

    But 620W should be plenty?

Don't worry Aurora Jon hates anything ATI. It looks good the PSU would be the only thing that would cause me to raise an eyebrow but that's only if you intend to add more to it.

Such as? It was like, 240 euros / $360. I can always upgrade stuff later, but this kind of money was all I wanted to spend at the moment. Moved out of the house, so plenty of other stuff I need. :/

But what would you guys have done different? My friend says that this card isn't bad. And at least it's quite recent, with direct x 11 support. Don't know much about it, but isn't new = at least decent?

Nice link. But hey, I'm upgrading from an ancient GForce 2, so the 5th best card should equal about a 500 times better version. Sounds like quite an upgrade. xD

Jon, running an OC'ed 8400 @ 4,0GHz and two 4870s (yes, ATI, suck on my finger) in crossfire. 620w no problem. Also 2 HDD's. I even raised the GPU on max. The video cards owns (his and mine)..
I don't care if your cards broke, I call it bad luck. ATI is really making advancements in their drivers and cheap-yet-better-than-NVIDIA cards.

    @ Aurora:
    8/10 coolness.

Just remember that you don't want vista running.

Lol sorry guys. When I said the card was bad I was solely referring to it being an ATI Radeon, not the card itself. It's actually a fairly new card and if you're on that tight a budget I wouldn't say don't buy it. But I do ALWAYS suggest Nvidia cards.

Too many fried ATI cards in the closet...

I won't comment on the specs because I don't know much about them. What I want to ask is why you bought a new system now. Was it to spend your money so you won't spend it on other things? :p Or are you after other games as well besides SC2? Because my primitive mind dictates that I should buy a new system a couple of months into beta to ensure the best price/value ratio while still not missing the launch. Plus I've heard that prices are lower towards and in summer as opposed to winter, which converges with my plan of "the later the better." Both might be bogus :)

I have already waited 1.5 years with buying a new pc. A full 18 months without a one of my own. (old one is kinda dead) Always did stuff in the library or sometimes at a friend's place. Moved out of the house now, and it's about time for a new one. Need one for my study stuff, which starts in january, and there are plenty of other games to play. I'm an rts addict, so there are piles of games out there that I missed. The xbox 360 isn't really able to satisfy me anymore. Haha. Can't even decide where to start, so many titles, and most of them are really cheap already. That, and my phone is really starting to annoy the crap out of me. Finally able to delete skype and ebuddy mobile. Crashes all the time.

So it's not that I'm buying just to spend money, but because it's about time. Waiting till summer is not an option in this case. :)
