just realized there is only 100 pix height on this forum. sigh... now i got to go into image ready and resize the whole gif.

Also just so you know, i can make a gif for anyone who wants one from a video.

Besides the current height limit (which may be changed to be more forgiving) there is also a filesize limit for sigs and just by how long it took my computer to load those sigs I can tell they wouldn't meet the requirements.

you mean dont meet the requirement right? Well i know some people are still on the slow side of internet. But hey i pay 55 bucks a month for blazing fast internet. i see gifs like these load in less then a second.

Well i could cut down the scenes from 6 to 3 so it would be easier on the dsl users and dail-up.

First you must of seen my post right as I posted it because I correct that mistake a second later. Next, that's fine that you have a nice internet connection but certain counties and ISPs don't offer those kinds of connections to everyone and sometimes in fact severly limit people who go over a certain quota, so the file size restrictions on sigs are limiting. Also, since you are obviously new to the forum I would advise reading the forum rules here: http://www.starcraft2forum.org/forums/showthread.php?t=70

Not bad but way too heavy. Maybe they load fast for you, fine, but they loaded for about a minute for me and I'm still good. Some people have limited bandwidths and can't afford to dl sigs like that.
iirc there were complaints when someone had a 1MB sig and yours are over twice as big
    ED: well, what LK said

You just added a border onto an already existing video file.

He said in his double post that he uses image ready, which is the animated .gif equivalent of Photoshop.

I like your non-animated pieces of work, smokey.

It's less than 100 pxls, I tried 100 and it's still cut off. Cruel and unusual.

I just cropped/resized it. It's Kerrigan from the Starcraft 2 reveal trailer.
I was more referring to the text part of my sig... the OPs gifs are huge, not only in file size but space and are animated, I'd block them in 2 seconds if they were his sig.

TBH I don't want large image sigs they just get in the way, it's a forum not an art show.

100 is reasonable. A forum is a place to exchange information and interact online with individual personalities, which can be expressed through art. As long as it's not getting ridiculous I think a larger room for sigs is fine. As long as the typical sig doesn't exceed the length of a normal post by a ridiculous amount I believe it's a good idea, however, I may be a little biased.

Edit: Also, you can just turn off sigs or block them through a browser add-on, personal preference.
