Wich size do you think it is?

Mysekf I think that its NOT infinite, It just expands with a überspeed far over the speed of light. so that nothing can come close to the edge. Also, if I got Einstein right, when something reaches/gets close to the speed of light, it expands, wich the universe does :)
    Thats just my thoughts... :)

It is more or less infinite because you can never reach the edge because of the way gravity curves space, meaning that if you keep flying straight you will eventually come back to your starting point.

I think for just our solar system to be this large, then the Milky Way, then so on and so forth...

    Could be endless.

At any single point in time it's almost definitely a finite amount of space, but it's size is increasing, and supposedly increasing at an increasing rate.

I've also heard, and been shown the maths proving, that it's impossible to fit a googolplex digits in the known universe. 'Twas quite teh interestingness.

If it's finite.. Then what is "outside" the universe?

Maybe out side that void.. ELVIS

    It's a globe.

If our concept of gravity is true, then it's universal. Therefore, there is some MASS at the center of the universe, most likely a black hole, and the entire thing is a globe.

Which raises an interesting thingie....What if OUR universe is a planet?

Brb The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Some interesting points raised though.. Fenix's post reminds me of the end of MIB ( The first one, I think ), where it continually zooms out, shows Earth, Sol, the Milky Way, until it finally reaches the end of the universe, where it is displayed as a marble being picked up by some sort of Alien. Thinking about that really hurts my brain.

but what if OUR planets core is a universe :O we dont know since we never have been to/even close to the middle...

    Infinite?

    Discussion level is zero here.

The universe is definitely not infinite

    Because?

Just admit that we humans can't imagine infinity.

And what would happen at the end? A wall?
Sure, but what's beyond the walls then?

If you believe the common Big Bang theory, you should definitely know that our existing physical universe is a massive inflating ''fireball'', if you will.

Whats beyond it? now, then your saying is true, as it is very difficult for our human minds to understand something to be ''infinite'' and ''timeless''. Beyond our universe would just be well, nothing physical, no space and no time, no forces, just nothing. Probably just the way everything was before the Big Bang created all of these things.

Maybe, we will never get the answer to this question whit just thinking and trying to get the answers whitout accualy going to the edge of the universe. (maybe?! lol :p ) Since some overpowered aliens, who created us made sunthing in our brains that didnt allow us to get the answer to this question... Einstein didnt have a coplete brain, he missed a part (dunno if it was missing... however, it wasnt normal) And the part of his brain taht was missing is the part that our creators boulded the not-allowed-to-get-answer-to-universe-size thing...
(I also remember reading sumwhere that the part not in einsteins brain was the one who worked whit these things, space etc.)

English isnt my first language so ull have to escuse my perhaps bad english...

hahaha.. that's the first time I hear that.

So, what you'r saying is that when we unlock our psiquic powers we will be able to understand infinite..

I'll have to get to my training o_O

Anyways, I dont think there's an edge for the universe.
Maybe there's some point when there's no more galaxies, or maybe there are some other big bangs ocurring far far away. But I dont think it'll ever come to an end. That would be kinda weird.
