Singleplayer - Wraith reveal

Try not to judge it until you see it in action - flying units are often much more beholden to their animations.

My opinion? I love it , cant wait to see more. (Note: the tileset, the textures there are awsome)

The Wraith looks really good though for some reason it's quite hard to recognise it as a Wraith.

 

It's nice to see them in action. I think the main problem with the shot is that, from this angle, it's hard to tell they're Wraiths. You can't easily see the hanging laser.

I wouldn't call the textures awesome. I think they may also benefit from being seen in motion.

 

This is a slightly odd question, but; How the **** do wraiths land?

 

I'm sure they go to space ports/station........

Im sorry but dont judge until you see them in actions - as i said, their animations and the lighting play big parts in hiding parts of the model and exaggerating others.

 

nice find. They look alright in picture. Probably look better in action.

 

Not bad. The glow from the thrusters kind of obscures them though, and the tileset makes it damn near impossible to see the already hidden piece of the Wraith's bottom "wing." It's definitely something we need to see in action (and on a different tileset).

Hmmm, they'll probably have medics and such as well.

 

Medics have already been in previous builds, so it's basically a given.

 

The textures on that image look odd to me. Those grassy plateaus look like somebody has taken a photo of their back lawn and crudely photoshopped it onto the screenshot. I'm not sure I like it.

I don't know if we've seen the cityscape tile-set before? I know I haven't.

wraith comes back, just for single player. That's okay. Cause why would the original units disappear in SC2 ? This "new" wraith does not seem like the one we know. It is a wraith, sure, but it is still different. I liked the other one of SC1.

 

The wraiths looked much cooler in SC, mainly because it looks like a normal jet form that view (in my opinion anyways). Now, it looks.... puny? weird? I swear, that terran fleet looks horrible with the fat viking and skinny wriaths. I hope they'll re-skin it, not to mention prevent the source-model of the valkyrie look like a pig. Heh.

 

What are you guys talking about? The SC2 Wraith is built almost exactly like the SC1 Wraith- it's just lit and textured differently. And the wings might be slightly thinner- more like the cinematic version of the unit.



If anything, complain that it looks too much like a low-res, 2D unit, translated too-faithfully to 3D (like everyone else.)

 

Good find. The look ok, but its hard to judge from one singe pic.

 

I'd say they look a little too bulky or blocky for wraiths. I mean the wraith was always a sleek and agile fighter of the Terrans and it doesn't seem to have that kind of feel for it in the screenshot at least. It also seems to lack personality as well.

Other than that its good, all they would need to do is tweak the design a bit and give it more personality than "just another flying terran ship" feeling it seems to give in that image.

 

Look at the picture I posted. They are less bulky then the original Wraith.
