okay guys what is the best counter to siege tanks as zerg with ground units? can terran just go Siegetank - Viking/Turrets? that would be even worse than the feared and imba MMM ball xD is there any ground-unit-counter to siegetanks except Immortals? (i do believe that zealots with charge counter siegetanks alone)
I don't play zerg but. bangeling drop, or pop up as mines, Or get some mutas to pick them off while flanking with ground army. Muta's can also be used to harass to get them out of place.
Well if you insist on using ground units to go after the tanks, use roach burrow to get right under them and pop up and rape them. But that will only work if they don't use scan well. And youd better make darn sure you use the first two times as game breakers, any good player will catch on pretty fast. BUT!! it would still be easier to use mutas or bangeling drop.
Zerglings work wonders I find. Hydras on high ground can sometimes take them too. However what going to work really depends on how there being used and with what tho.
nice ..... ultralisks seems pretty good ^^ ive tried roaches underground aswell and it works great! but it really wont work if he has turrets... like if he went tank/turret into vikings
Banelings are useless, ultras are too late. I find the best counter to be zerglings, with hydras in second place. Thanks to the tank nerf.
i have to say zerg is really at disadvantage against tank + MMM. - yes, burrowing roaches work but if they are dumb enough for take your roaches (no scan, no raven), they are subpar terran player and you probably can take down their mineral line which is also poorly scanned and no raven, no missle torrent. - ultra LOL, btw time you have your first ultra. You are probably up against 3-4 tanks with a 60-70food MMM. - hydra are glass canon and gets owned by tanks + MMM due to finite range and low armor, I don't know why people even mention them here
ninja muta attack or green ball bombing is the answer, but requires better coordination and generally more clicks. Which could very well be what the problem is if your having massive problems vs T as zerg.
I dont get why people are saying banes, as they do almost no damage to tanks. Anyone done the terran unit challenge? The second lvl with the banes can be done with 1 tank. As long as the tank can kill one bane, all the others could suicide into it and the tank will survive. If you only want to use ground, I would suggest roach/hydra
*meh* hydras get ownd by any infrantry and probably tanks aswell and roaches get ownd by maraudsers pretty hard but if it was ONLY tanks then maybe roach-hydra could work......... i have to test that xD
Just get around the back of the army, i don't see that many terran player leaving marines behind there tanks and there long range often leaves them a fair bit back. Other than that . Focused fire works wonder, as does hight.
Simple solution to this. Heavy maruaders and tanks Heavy zerglings and hydras. Heavy marines and tanks. Lots of roches and hydras. If there dumb enough to go really heavy on the tanks, just throws lot of lings or mutas at them. Its just a matter of getting your mix right IMHO.
Probably not the answer you seek but since zerg are in a big disadvantage against siege tanks try to avoid them using mutas and abusing the terran's workers. A more appealing answer would be brood lords sniping them out as one mentioned above and having some corruptors to support them if air units appear
Erm, isn't there a high chance that A) seige tanks will be in the field way before your broodlords B) the enermy will take down your slow moving and expencive broodlords with either focus fire from vikings all just marines/thors and C) the tanks will be with a strong ground force anyway?
You wait for them until they start unsieging. Have control of Xel'Naga tower, use changeling, or nearby overlords to keep an eye on siegetanks. Run in with a few units to force your opponent to siege, then as soon as he unsieges again to move out, come in. There will be a window of opportunity to kill as many units before the tanks are set up.
well as far as i know hydralisks get ownd by both Marines, Marauders and maybe Tanks so i dont really know about that... but i was once being against a terran player who got a lot of tanks and eventually he camped right outside my base and i couldn't stop him from getting allmost full map-control but then i did a runby with some roaches and won the game (i guess he was afk when i did the runby so yeah.......) xD i still have the replay though ^^
