Siege tank siege mode sound of the shot, new vs old

I prefer the old sounds better, sounded more powerful.

what do you guys think

i have heard both now, the old one had more punch to it, but the new one sounds more realistic.

 

old definetly, that sound and the sound of marines firing are the 2 coolest things in sc.......

 

The new one sounds like a hydrolic machine is moving, mixed with the sound of a pump or something of the sort.

The old one, was a mix of a lazer artilery with a nice echo, and quite a punch.

 

I like the old one better too. It's more powerful.

old siege tank definately sounded like something just exploded (took massive damage).
Even a SC noob would be able to ID that something was hitting your army hard. I'm very poor at my acoustic terminology..but the old siege tank had an attack with a deep bass and a good lengthed echo.

The new siege tank shot definately sounds less intimidating and less menacing. The siege tank shots sounds like they designed a futuristic silencer for it!

BTW : Just lookin @ youtube siege tanks vs zealots/immmortal clip.

The new marines' attack sounds more like wings flapping (horde of bats)/or pages flipping fast in a breeze, then the actual spray of an assault rifle. Just my feelings on it

 

THe new Siege Tank design looks pretty brute, but I still think it could be bettered. I don't like the "X" formation it makes when it goes into siege mode though.

Give the old sound of the siege tank imo, much, much better, or at least something more intimidating.

When i hear the siege tanks whaling on the enemy its like pouring honey over my heart.

The new sound is like, meh...

 

I miss that old FWUMP sound....

 

tell me about it...you see a dragoon, FWLUMP FWLUPM, and than it melts, good times..

 

Perhaps a psychological factor was behind those tanks. They completely demoralize the unprepared player.

If your units are decimated by tanks you get exponentially more pissed than if by anything else.

 

yeah, best thing is, they have the longest range, so any time you move within range, poof, a few units die from that dreaded sound. And you're like "DAMN IT!"

i dont know the new sounds but the old sounds were neat. I will say this though, when the thor goes into bombardment, the sound it makes is BEYOND ASTONISHING! it's really sweet.

 

you can all hear the sound by watching the terran release video. In the beginning bunch of siege tanks perform some good old defending.
