on the original SC siege tank do 60 damage (siege mode) and with 3 can kill a 4-5 or more dragoon instantly when i saw the battle report 4 it seems that it can`t do that same destructive damage, or i may have been mistakes or what?

Can you give us a specific example? They seemed to be doing fine for their numbers in the latest B.R. (or rather, as fine as they could do against a dozen Stalkers with Blink)

Siege tanks did 75 explosive damage in StarCraft I. Note that they did full damage to shields.

Siege tanks did 60 damage a hit (all creature types) at BlizzCon 2009, though the damage changes fairly often.

I see what he is saying. To me in last BR the siege tanks didn't look like they were doing as much damage that they did in earlier BR and in SC1. But that's me, looks can be deceiving.

I read that the new Siege Tank only positive thing compared to SC 1 is that it gots a even larger range.
Compared to SC1 I heared the the attack does less damage to some units and more damage to others. It also costs more and eats more supply. The reason for this change was balance reasons, partiecellry since they new way the high ground spottning works.

    Beware
AFAIK The current values for siege tank damage is 40+40 vs Armored with a slightly longer range than the Arcalite.
Alslook at BR 4, during the 2 tank dropship attack there was a mouse over of the tanks damage, at the very top of the window was the number 80.
Its attack rate seems faster than the Arcalite, though the speed is eyeballed so I could be (and probably am) wrong on that regard.

About the battlereport it is impossilbe (at least for me) to see if the value is 60 or 80. 60 damgae agaisnt every unit (and structure) and no bonuses is commenly given stats. I doubt it is 80, agasnt everything, it would be overpowered. As for tank mode it deals less damage than i SC1 but shoots faster and comnely given to have bonus damage .

Battle Report 4 is probably older than BlizzCon 2009. Battle Reports get shoutcasted and posted much later than they're actually shown.

Some are confused if the siege tank was either nerfed or buffed. But obviously the unit is much better now. Starting by the units name Crucio, it just means that the unit has changed and definitely it won't be for worse.

Ar****e vs Crucio? No question there.

How to compare from SC1, SC1 numbers first. Difficult to compare exakt numbers since the damage system is different as well as different units.

    150 minerals 100 gas 2 suppy vs 200 minerals 150 gas 3 supply.
Siegemode: 70 damaga explosive (70 vs large, 52 (or 53) vs medium 35 vs small) vs 60 vs all units except Immortals = 10 damage.
Sigemode range:12 vs Siegemode range 13
Tankmode 30 explosive (30 vs large,22 or 23 vs medium 15 vs small) vs 15 damage + 10 armored except Immortals = total 10 damage.

Conclusion: deals more damage to medium and small units but less agianst units like Ultralisks and Archons. Other exampels of large units where Goliaths, Reavers, Dragoons and buildings. Dragoons replacmens units, Immortals and Stalkers can be converted to less damage than a Sc1 siege tank. Also the Reavers replacment, the Collosus can also be considered less damage. The Goliaths replacments, Thors and Vikings = less damage than a Sc1 sige tank. Also Tanks are less spammable but better balanced to fit into Sc2.

However, I still think Terran is fine and is even stronger than in Sc1 thanks to new units like Marauders, Banshees, Thors and Medivac. Marins combat shields also makes a difference and Hellions looks like a better Firebat as well as a better Vulture(but I still miss the Spider Mines).

Yea Terran as a whole are pretty much fine, I think Protoss are fine or very close, and Zerg just need a little work but still seem pretty fine.
