Almost every Zerg unit can burrow, so why would Blizzard set it for enemies to be able to see them without a detector? And in the Zerg video that was released on March 10th, it showed that the Stalkers could shoot the Lurkers while burrowed. I didn't see any detectors around them either.

They could not just display the black circles anymore because too many units can burrow and people won't be able to distinguish between units.

I want to know if enemy players can see WHAT unit is buried using detectors or if they only see that SOMETHING is buried (but no icon)

I would like to see the head of the unit instead of a dark circle. With a detector unit around of course.

This is handy to tell what unit it is, but i do not like how they have done this, i like the way it was before, where a image of the disturbed soil was diferent for the luker burrowed compaired to the other units, this could be done for all star craft2 units, seeing the units like this is too distracting, and will always make people feel like the other team can see it, even though they carnt.

The way it is now, the units head sticks out, hows that called burrowed.

a small dark patch could be used for lings,
    medim for hydros
    and large one for ultras

or even a diff shape could be used like how the hydros was round and the lurkers was oval

First off, can we get off this "they're sticking out while they're burrowed, therefore enemies can see them" crap? What the hell would be the point of burrowing if the enemy can still see them? What would be the point of Ultras and Hydras, etc. burrowing if the enemy can still see them? "I'm going to burrow in this spot so I can't move and can't attack and am a sitting duck for the enemy". Kind of like the ostrich who sticks his head in the ground to not be seen.

Anywayz, sorry, that's been really bugging me, more on the battle.net forums than here; seems most starcraft2forum.net posters have more sense.

And showing their heads sticking out to identify the units looks ridiculous. They should either 1) do exactly what bazzwano described or 2) have small icons above the burrowed unit indicating the type of unit.

It's obvious that zerg are still in the preliminary stages, but I think they're off to a really good start.

It's important to know which unit is burrowed when using a detector as that mirrors revealing cloaked units.

I think the best graphic for showing which unit is burrowed is just through shape shadows. Every Zerg unit is a different size and shape so this should work.

Like, you see the burrow hole but underneath is the silhouette(spelling's wrong, most likely)?

I think the head thing is ugly, but it is probably different when a player detects it. A sillhouette would be better since you can't magically see what is underground, but then again the detecters obviously have scanners so getting its shape would be more likely. You could also confuse players by making it look like a burrowed Ultralisk but it is only Zerglings.

I don't really like the way you are able to see the top of its head, but I guess it's better than the old SC were you could barely see a dark hole.

Yes but slightly smaller for ultralisks.

As the Ghosts are now detectors for energy units like infestors this will be more significant.

Being able to see the head is key. I find myself accidentally selecting Zerglings that are burrowed instead of Hydralisks in the heat of battle because I'm going to fast to look at the pictures of the selected units. A great addition.

So can other players detect the lurkers without a detector?

    No? That would be horrible...

And since you made me read this thread i have to say, silhouettes are alot better than heads.

What about the new roach burrow abilitie to regen when is taken fire?

I call that "the lurker bug from SC1" Try to renember that the zergs can not burrow when there are under fire.

Blizzard wants fix some unit problems by removing the side of reality

You mean the roach gains hit points while burrowed? Don't all zerg units do that, but the roach regenerates faster? Do you mean that the roach regenerates hit points between attacks?
