Hello i'm thinking about buying Starcraft 2 but i have a few questions before i spend $100 on it 1.Does it have good replay value? 2.Is this a good strategy game to start off with? 3.Can someone give me a brief description of the Starcraft 1 story? 4.How long till the multiplayer starts to get boring? 5.Are there hacks online? If so,how will i know if people do? 6.How many hours have you played? Thanks,Kazam
1.Does it have good replay value? Absolutely. The number of strategies is infinite and they're constantly surfacing to entertain both the players and the spectators. 2.Is this a good strategy game to start off with? If you mean SC2 would be the first RTS game you've ever played then no. It would overshadow everything else, much to other companies' sorrow. 3.Can someone give me a brief description of the Starcraft 1 story? Check the starcraft wiki or watch the cinematics that recap the story. The former can be googled, the latter is somewhere at sc2.com. 4.How long till the multiplayer starts to get boring? As I said with the strategies, gameplay is constantly renewed by the players coming up with all sort of crazy strateges and tactics so multiplayer can never get boring. Unless you're the type who is discouraged by a few defeats. 5.Are there hacks online? If so,how will i know if people do? Plenty. But if you check the front page you'll see that one of the articles deals exactly with this issue. Blizzard steps up against hack and is not afraid to ban people. But understand that this can't prevent it from happening, only discourage use via these banning sessions. 6.How many hours have you played? Myself, not much, but it's because of having other things to do. When I was sick I was glued to SC2 as you can see in my sig I haven't played much, although I have some achievement points, which also contribute to the replayability of the game by the way. Hope it helps make up our mind.
1.Does it have good replay value? Been playing sc for 10 years. 2.Is this a good strategy game to start off with? EASy to learn, lifetime to master. Agreed with kuvasz that it would completely overshadow other games. cept sc1!! 3.Can someone give me a brief description of the Starcraft 1 story? Agree with kuvasz. but how bout this Humans came to the Koprulu sector when 4 giant super shuttles crash landed on the planets there. Called terrans now (the humans). They started a gov't called the Confederacy, which are english ppl ruling over rednecks. They met protoss first I believe. The meeting consisted of their ship getting vaporized. Then they met zerg. Sick alien thingies that proceded to infest one of their planets. anyways, there was this war, and a civil war in the protoss, because one of the guys said "oh look, the guys we exiled (dark templar, due to religious reasons) are pretty cool". And then they kept fighting, and in the end the good guys win. Unfortunately this is a horrible horrible horrible synopsis. really, i recommend u check out the story, it's REALLY epic. 4.How long till the multiplayer starts to get boring? Seomwhat agree with kuvasz. YOu can experiment, and, if u tired of league, play custom games for a bit (the galaxy editor is by far the strongest map-making software currently i believe). Also, again, i've been playing sc for 10 years (admitted on and off but thats cuz ppl stole my stuff -.-) 5.Are there hacks online? If so,how will i know if people do? Hell. yes. already 5000 hackers banned! If you suspect ppl of hacking, watch the replay and try to check for evidence. GO to youtubve and search up "starcraft 2 hacker cam" 6.How many hours have you played? Over 9000 hours. In fact, last summer, I was playing sc 17 hours DAILY. damn good old days. actually the over9000 part might be an exagerration. it might actually be ~6000-8000 Thx kuvasz i qouted ur stuff and replaced it ^^ Also, StarCraft is absolutely, HANDS DOWN, the BEST of the RTS genre. Not just subjective opinion, but objective data analysis ^^
1.Does it have good replay value? Starcraft Broodwar had a rediculously good replay value for both multiplayer and single player. I played the game for about 8 years off and on running through the campaigns of the Starcraft and Stacraft Broodwar over and over again and also playing the multiplayer for hours of endless anger and fun. Starcraft II in my oppinion isn't AS good as that though. I've played it almost every day since it's come out and it IS good but just doesn't have what SC1 had...most likely because I grew up with SC1 and this is just a bit different. It's fun, period. 2.Is this a good strategy game to start off with? This is probably one of the best RTS games out there, hands down. Deffinetly the most famous. SC1 was rated number one I think and its predeccessor isn't a let down. It's required a brain, it's not just a massing game. 3.Can someone give me a brief description of the Starcraft 1 story? Check this out if you want the story. IT has the entire story layed out nicely from the beggining of Starcraft, to the expansion Starcraft Broodwar all the way up to Starcraft II. http://us.starcraft2.com/features/storysofar.xml 4.How long till the multiplayer starts to get boring? Multiplayer can be boring or it can be fun. Like others said just switch it up. Play customs, play league, play campaign, just go for the achievments. When you have friends though it makes it much better to play and it's fairly easy to get friends on SC2. 5.Are there hacks online? If so,how will i know if people do? Yes... And to check for it you have to watch the replays after the game. The only hack I can really think of that people use is map hack. (They can see the whole map) Usually there is a sort of fog called fog of war over places you have seen or the map itself but you no longer have vision of them so the map hack makes it much easier for them to counter and expand and such. Anyway.. You check the replay, set it so that you are watching their camera and following what they do and check to see if they are looking at places where they have no vision. Usually a sign of map hack. Not nearly as common as Starcraft 1 but it's still around. People are scared to do it though because if you get caught and banned you need to spend 50 bucks to get a new copy of SC2. 6.How many hours have you played? All together I've played the SC series well over 15000 hours. I mean 12 hours a day for only a 1000 days is 12000. And I know I've played more than 1000 days in the past 8-9 years. As for SC2..I've played nearly every day since it's been out so well above a few thousand hours. Buy the game...if you like RTS's you'll cream your pants when you play it. You're gonna rage at times and you're gonna love it other times.
*cough* what takaim means is that you will not only cream your pants, a frenzy of assorted flavors of cream will come out too. and not only from the waist down
Deffinetly money well spent bro. When you get online let me know bro, I'll help ya get started. >_> Shh Insanity, you're gonna ruin the surprise.
This game is awesome you want regret buying it, find yourself 2 or 3 people to play with, making sure they are fairly decent and this game will be amazing!
Wtf...was the point of you copying my post? Minus a period. I copywrite all my posts. o.o Give me money or get arrested for not citing your work! >=O MLA format!
He quoted it to sneak in a wow gold link into section 4... pay attention, boy Regarding cheats, even though I said there are plenty and others too I just want to say that I have yet to meet a user. We (or at least I) assume there are plenty of cheats out there because of how fast 5000 accounts were confirmed to be using them, and since it's evident that only a fraction of the users were caught.
xD Oh, lol. Didn't catch that. D: I fail. But yeah, no matter what online game you play..especially for PC..there will be hackers whether you like it or not. But with the risk of having to spend 60 bucks just to play again there is less of a chance you will encounter them in SC2.
