He assigns the Ghost, MacGregor Golding, who recognized Octavia's psyonic abilities, to paint the target. Once the object was nuked, it burst into a phoenix-like creature, absorbing all Protoss and Zerg in its wake. Recently, there was an interview with some Blizzard people and they mentioned that this novel was going to be cannon, or at least, it's plot would have something to do with SC2's plot. Anyone has some infos about that phoenix-like creature? It's probably not a Hybrid or whatever. But maybe it's another creation from the Xel'Naga... Now, it reminds me of the functions of the Xel'Naga temple. From Wiki: Why would Xel'Naga's create such temples?
