    Season 2 is winding down, meaning Blizzard will once again be locking league positions and encouraging users to once again become active and fight their way to the top of their divisions. The lock will take effect July 5th, 2011 5:00 am PDT. We'll be moving to two more seasons through the end of the year. Season 3 starts on July 19th. Blizzard's system attempts to reward users for remaining consistently active rather than in spurts by continuing to update MMR ratings but locking positions as the seasons close.

    In other news, Razer is currently offering a promotional rebate for StarCraft II products: $30 off the Marauder keyboard and Banshee headset, or $20 off the Spectre mouse. Our recommendation? Buy a cheaper set like the Lycosa and Imperator. Woot.com has a Lycosa for $40 today.

    Urgh, Season 2 kinda felt it went by too fast for me T^T Oh well at least we'll be looking at the new maps.

    Anyone know if the season reset allows for additional opportunity for placement in a higher league with that single placement match they make you play? I am excited for the new maps, but have been bumping against the top rank of my plat division and am hoping this gives me a good opportunity to jump into diamond.

    Yup that's exaclty what will happen. And it's not a "placement" match it's an "Hey! I'm active again!" match. That's why there's opportunity to jump a league because not everyone has placed. It eliminated inactive players.
