How about that uh, if the player needs an array of turrets at this map location, I'd like to be able to tell the scv to built by itself several turrets spaced out a little distance form one another. Otherwise, the players needs to keep waiting until scv is done building that turret, so that after scv is finished, the player can finally tell scv to start building another one. I don't know about you, but I've more important things to be concentrating on the game than to keep micro managing scv to built a wall of turrets that I need. Unless, you are one of those micro fanatics that thinks it is the best thing to ever happen to SC. If the money runs out in the bank, then the scv just waits until sufficient is available to start making the next turret automatically, for instance. Sounds like an improvement to Broodwars. ---------- --- - ----
this is in starcraft 2. i remember seeing a screenshot that showed it, im looking for it now. it shows the green image thing with green lines going in order of the build queue.
You can hold down shift (or another button) to keep the current command after clicking, and queue them up. So like, if you want to throw a Psi Storm, you don't have to click the icon or short cut over and over. Just hold down shift when you place the Psi Storm, and the Psi Storm placement circle will still be @ your mouse, ready to be placed again. Same for building and moving. Select an air unit, hold down shift, and then frenetically click the corners of the minimap in a clockwise or counterclockwise manner, and voilà: it will move around the entire map without the need of redirection.
I havent heard about this feature.. It will be nice to use only the shift button to build/cast multiple.
This was implemented in Blizzard RTSes in Warcraft 3, (obviously) after Starcraft. It's in Starcraft 2. 99.99% sure.
It's already implemented in WarCraft 3 and chances are it'll be in SC2, I see no reason why it shouldn't be. Does take some minor skill to be able to queue up buildings.
Using this in Supreme Commander made me realize how much I wanted it in SC1. I'll have to wait for SCII haha.
