SC2Forums.org Promo Video

Since I didn't get much of a response to the video creation competition, I went ahead and made a short promo video for StarCraft2Forum.org. I hope this inspires some other videos!

Its pretty good, but maybe you should include clips that corresponds to the words.

 

That ending is FANTASTIC.

And an idea to make it feel a bit more personal, maybe have screencaps of actual Starcraft 2 conversations here scrolling by.

Of course not a snail's pace, but fast enough to keep it interesting, yet slow enough to show that verbs, nouns, and ideas are thrown down.

 

How about actual screenshots of the forums.

No computer here at the moment, so I'll watch it later on. Anyways, PLEASE say he didn't use requim for a dream. It's a forum, not an epic movie production. I think using starcraftish music would be better.

 

No the video does not use Lux Aeterna. Its some technosomething that is the definition of generic.

Anyways, I am among the crowd that things that the video should match the words, I want to see the fun contests, the fabulous prizes and the interesting news mentioned in the text.

 

If someone wants to find a decent recording software for their PC and get me some HD video of that very thing, go ahead and hook me up and I'll use it in a future video.

For now this video is intended to simply server as a google SEO tool and cool little thing for you guys to show your friends. BTW here's the YouTube link.

This might turn out to be a really stupid question, but what is a SEO tool for google in plain English?

And the Chemical Brothers rule BoP.

 

It's basically a means to improving a site's Google rank. By linking a video to the site it makes the site's link more prominent and visible, and therefore increases the number of hits, thereby increasing its ranking.

It's a complicated system. Tags also help on threads.

 

Obviously starcraft2.com will always come above us, as will wikipedia, but we do need to do something to come above the armory.

I assume the digg button et al. are there for a reason, we shoudl use them more.

As for tags, see signature.

 

I'd use the 'Bookmarks' thing if there was a Reddit one.

Also, if you insist on using a 'techno' song, I've got a bunch that are awesome, listenable to, and are non-generic.

You know, I noticed something, and wonder if others saw the connection too.

This video is for giving us a higher google pagerank, right? Well, since Jon put it online, we have had 10 times more advertisers here. Is it just me, or is this video luring the wrong kind of people to the site?
