For the moment I'm playing SC2 on a "not so legal" basis. I wanne buy the game, but I wanne know if the game is still playable after achieving the missions? I'm new to the RTS-genre and don't really like multi-players.
So, is SC2 still fun and challenging to play in single-player mode after fullfilling the missions.
I see an "Versus AI" in the singe player screen, but that's completly empty.

The campaign is certainly fun and challenging, and there are many other fun ways to play single player.. but there is no doubt that multiplayer is the most fun and obviously the most challenging.

    You should buy it.

No, if you do not want to go online and play there, then don't bother buying the game because single player is campaign and not much else.

But, before you say no to multiplayer online... consider the cool custom games that are being rolled out. They are often less competitive than traditional multiplayer and give the game a ton of variety. The custom online games are also going to be made for a long time.

I'm 41 years old. Have a job and 8 year old son. I don't have time to play 5-6 hours a day. Won't i be "owned" by a 12 year old kid who play 8 hours a day, because that's what is happening when i play fps shooters online like mw1 and 2 on my ps3.

Ranked matched automatically pair you with people your level.
I wouldn't worry about getting pwned, im sure there are a lot of casual players out there as well.

My friend has 2 sons, one that is 13, and one that is 9. I play with him ever other 2 days or so and hes actually not that bad. Yes he has a job as well, so I think you'd be ok if you bought the game. You're not the only casual gamer on battle.net :)

No comparison to MW2. MW2 "balances" the game by putting equal amounts of good players on each team. SC2 balances the game by only matching you up against people of your skill level. Occasionally you will get pwned, but you will also get to deal out the occasional beat down. The matchmaking system does a great job of keeping your winning % around 50%. Multiplayer is definitely where it is at!

I started playing RTS's with War2 and then SC, BW, and War3. I can't stand playing other RTS's because they don't hold up to BW. SC2, however, does.

I am 31 with two kids. I used to play BW a ton when I was younger, but now I am free-time challenged. It drives me crazy to get beat by kids who have the time to keep up their APM, but it also feels good when the 12 years of macro development overpowers their button-mashing frenzy.

I can't be a pro with 2 kids, but I can beat a lot of people, and have a lot of fun doing it.

Hey, when you buy the game, be sure to join our clan, Clan ToF (Templars Of Faith)!

We would really love to teach you, and have you as part of our community! :D

Yeah I think Starcraft 2 would be a great game for you. Obviously you have already played it since u have said that, but the great thing about it is that you can sit down and play it for 30 mins to an hour then go do something else. If you are smart and develop good strategies it wont matter how often or how long you play. BTW I wish I knew where to get it "not legally" but dont worry about it its prolly not allowed to talk about that here. or safe.

You can't get "owned" in StarCraft 2. You can lose badly, but you can't be "owned" by the word's definition. StarCraft 2 is a THINKING MAN'S game. It's not for the kids with the crazy APMs. High APM and reaction times will only get you so far. At some point you have to be a strategic guru.

Pro players do have both of these abilities, but if you use your mind to conquer the game you will beat 80% of players on battle.net. It's just like Chess. :D
