Computer Specs CPU: Socket 775 LGA Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4ghz @ 2.6 Stepping B Revision G0 MotherBoard: Asus P5N-E SLI Memory: Corsair XMS2 DHX Cooling (4 x 1GB) Hard Drive: Seagate 7200 Sata I Graphics Cards: PNY 1GB 250 GTS (x2 via SLI) PSU 650W Apviea Java Operating System: Windows 7 64 Bit Business Edition OK so here is my deal, Future Mark 3dmark06 is 13000 with SLI and 12000 without. 3dmarkvantage i get 13000 with SLI and 8000 without. So my big problem is that my buddy has a similar build similar card and is running Starcraft 2 on ultra at 60 fps during game play with only one card! I on the other hand am running SLI and still can only run high but at 90-50FPS during game play. I don't know what is wrong with my computer or maybe nothing is wrong and it just can't match up even thought my specs beat his. From what i've read it could be: My Motherboard is 8x and not 16x (my buddies Mobo) on PCI-E and that is bottlenecking My Harddrive could need a wipe My Drivers could be %&$#ed My CPU maybe be bottle necking Any ideas i really need some help from anyone pro or not, i read this stuff on my own with little knowledge so i was hoping to find some real help and post my own thread
There is nothing wrong, SLI and Crossfire are not supported in StarCraft 2. Disable SLI to increase performance. Blizzard has zero intention of supporting SLI, and the game doesn't need it to run well.
thats interesting so i really shouldve got one buff card instead of two avereage? How come the SLI indicator comes on when i play SC2 tho?
I can't explain that. Blizzard themselves aren't supporting it. Perhaps performance will improve in later drivers.
From what I see, your mobo has 2 x PCIE x16 slots. HDD is used when loading the map. A faster hdd won't make the game run better. No idea there. Update, experiment with other drivers. Give it some more juice and compare. q6600s easily go past 3.0GHz. All this being said, I think anything higher than 40fps in a non fps game is overkill. Him having 300fps while you "only" have 50-90 won't make his gaming experience better.
