Having played Starcraft & Starcraft: Brood Wars upwards of 9-11 times from start to finish, when I found out Blizzard was going to release SC2 I could barely contain myself. Almost a decade of anticipation for what I could only imagine was going to be one of the best video game Sci - Fi sequels to date. After completing the Wings of Liberty campaign I am left at a loss. There are so many story elements I don't understand. Why did Kerrigan withdraw for 4 years when the zerg were the dominant force in the universe? Why were there so few missions leading up to the conclusion & for the battle of Char? It seemed very anti-climatic. If Kerrigan had been building up her forces for 4 years how is it that Raynor's Raiders were able to drop down on Char's Headquarters & wipe out the planet in a afternoon? I understand they wouldn't stand a snowballs chance in hell without the artifact, but still... I guess my expectations were just to high perhaps. I think one thing that really set the sequel apart from SC1 & Broodwar was the character development. While I did enjoy some of the interactions the new characters had in SC2 I was left indifferent. I really have no emotional attachment to them. However, when I think about the fallen heroes such as Fenix, Duke, Tassadar, I still miss them...
LOL I myself signed up here just to express the same feelings like many others. SC2 story is a disgrace and even the game itself is beraly modorate. And the funny thing is that last time they didn't even try to emphesize and develop the charachters emotionaly to much (the hole Raynor-kerrian love story was only hinted to us) and they produced gold. This time they practicly tried to make a movie with all this drama but the outcome is a very bad sequal. I am very dissapointed with blizzard.
