SC2 crashes occasionally on my computer. I don't know why? Can anyone help? I can post the report details in another thread or two if you want to see it. The error reports get send to blizzard when it crashes anyway. But I don't know how they are suppose to help. Is the problem my computer or battle.net? I am not sure and I don't fully understand what these reports mean.

Nothing much. I was playing the campaign and my connection with battle.net was dropping in an out. Then the mission froze for a couple of minutes then the game crashed. This doesn't happen all the time.

I have closed this thread to get your attention. PLEASE zip/winrar the log and attach it to a post. DO NOT post it like this! I will leave this thread locked for 5 mins to give you time to zip/rar the original log. After 5 mins all of the post made about this log will be removed by me. Zipping the file will allow you to attach it because it will compress the size of the file!

Tutorials on using Windows built in zip functions can be found here.

*edit* I have reopened the thread. I will be removing the crash log now. Please attach the crash.log zipped to a new post. @_@

Also, post a dxdiag attached to a post as well. To run it=> Windows_logo_key+r, dxdiag. If you have 64-bit windows, click the button at the button that says "run 64-bit dxdiag," Then save all the data by clicking "save all information..." zip/rar the text file and attach it to the post as well.

Your video driver is from 8/2008 (older then dirt). I would try upgrading to your newest driver here (*EDIT 3* THIS LINK IS FOR US ENGLISH DRIVER). For some reason your audio driver is super new compared the the rest of the outdated drivers found on your system. Run the Intel Driver Update Utility and download the newest Intel chipset drivers for your system.

I will assume that the super old nVidia driver is what is causing the crashing. I mean, its super super SUPER old (177.98). Follow the steps in my FAQ to add protection against the nVidia overheating issue AFTER installing the newest driver!

*edit* Where are you from man? I've never seen the "enSG" distro of StarCraft II listed before. Are you in an Oceanic/Asian region?

*edit 2* Looked it up, enSG is the Southeast Asian distro of StarCraft 2.

*edit 3* Since you aren't in a North American region (I don't know exactly where you are though), you may need to use this India English nVidia driver. I don't know what locale your PC is in, but it may work better then the US English driver linked to above. You may have to search the nVidia drivers page for the exact driver of your region. You have a 9 Series GeForce 9800GTX+ card.

I am in Australia which is in the oceanic region, yes. So do I have to update the Nvidia driver from the site. How do I run the utility do I click on the link from your thread and go from there?

I guess I should clarify. The Intel Update Utility is NOT for your video drivers, but for your chipset drivers. I would only run it and download the drivers it list after trying the new video driver.

I would download and install the English UK driver for Australia. It really doesn't matter which one you get, as it only effects how words are spelled in the nVidia control panel.

Also, what kind of virus protection are you using too? I forgot to ask about that.

It not working has nothing to do with where he is at. He has a super old video card driver and it needs updated. I just want to find the region appropriate driver if at all possible.

I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver from the link. So now it is up to date. The driver utility didn't really help much it just said it doesn't recongnise the driver versions, what the name of the drivers are for each device. And to click the link for more details. I probably won't know if the problem is fixed until I play a couple of matches of the campaign or custom matches. I am using Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0

Post a new dxdiag dump. That will tell me if the new driver installed correctly or not.

The driver installed fine. I guess we'll see if the driver was the entire issue. If its still crashing, the next thing to try is checking the temps on your machine. For that its easiest to download and install HWMonitor. Make sure you read my FAQ on the nVidia overheating issue and apply those fixes as well.

I would also still run the the Intel Driver Update Utility and download the newest Intel chipset drivers for your system. Some may say I am must overly obsessive about having the newest drivers... but... they do release new drivers for a reason.

But the Intel Driver Update Utility doesn't recognise the drivers on my machine. It knows that each device on my machine has a driver to it but it doesn't know what it is.

    Hmm... weirdness.

I need to know more about this machine. Is it a store bought machine or a home built one?

If its a store bought machine, what is the make and model? I want to look up the hardware configuration if its a store bought and see what I can find out.

If its a home built machine, what is the make and model of the motherboard?

*edit* Never mind I am blind. It's a Dell DM061.

Only think I can find on that model is a BIOS update. Does it fix anything? The damn thing doesn't have a readme, but Dell "Recommends" it.

If you have a more exact model number for your Dell machine, please inform me. For now I will guess that it is a Dell Dimension E520.

There is a newer Intel Rapid Storage driver for your system too. Its 3 years newer then the one installed, dunno if it would help at all though. The system specs indicate that the motherboard had a built in Intel graphics card, but it seems to be turned off correctly.

I am wondering how many wants the PSU on this machine is... I wonder if not having enough juice for the video card is the problem. The power supply for the E520 is only rated at a 305 Watts.

    SC2 crash

Sc2 and WoW both started crashing on me about 3 days ago. Sometimes its 30 minutes into the game and other times it is immediately. Sometimes I get crash reports and other times everything freezes up. I have an Mac OS X and it is less than one year old. I would think it could handle the game especially since I played it for a couple weeks with no issues. I have attached the crash report. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
