The update of the korean sc 2 site is there: teh observer http://kr.starcraft2.com/features/protoss/observer.xml Bonus 400 minerals for a good find. Next time, if you make a newsworthy post on it, you'll get 800
This deserves the news owerup: BTW... Can somebody translate it or we must wait for it to go live on the main site? The movies are very cool anyway... Not so spectacular but very important unit I don't see any add-ons from the first version though... As a question do you think they will keep the same original upgrades?(spped and range?) P.S.: New pictures in the arwork: http://kr.starcraft2.com/artwork.xml New Screenshots: http://kr.starcraft2.com/screenshots.xml In the screenshots we can see the dropships appearing again for the terran and the old nuclear dot Looks like they changed it back.
Actually the first paragraph goes like: "To investigate, or sitting in the vast wasteland combat situation and observe and record the proceeds from which much research institute supported by the small ship. Observation is a highly complex line detection device consumes most of the resources to the managing director, however, is almost invisible enemy hiding or covered with the ability to easily detect because it has a very valuable support units from the battlefield recognized." Second paragraph: "Observation space exploration missions has been granted, most lines are not equipped with any form of defensive devices. Observations on the battlefield, but that line has a commitment to avoid the enemy's eyes that can be equipped with the most tiny concealment. Exporting is a very small signal sensing observations horn lines, this observation because of the long time line, it consumes a lot of energy to keep most without concealment. " This is from google translate
@ dragusinb - You're confusing the two things. The larger way of marking the nuke is still there, that's what the Terran player sees (to make it clear if his units are in danger from his own nuke). The small dot is seen by all the other non-allied players. That screenshot is taken from the Protoss player's point of view, to demonstrate the observer. Another hint at that is that cloaked units (in this case, the ghost) is seen differently by the player and by non-allied players with detection. On a side note: oh noes I didn't win the raffle pot! :upset:
The site won't open up for me, it just writes "XSLT processing failed". Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait till it gets on the european site. Gonna be much more sweet too ;D How does the new observer look like?
Like in the old movies... Nothing extraordinary about this update really... I was more interested in the new screenshots and artwork actually
love the new design, I have a question though. Does it still have a permanent cloaking field, or is it like others, using power to generate it? Because in a vids, it looks like it changes from cloaked to uncloaked.
hey nice update. Pretty interesting vids but i wish the text would come up cause its not... I can read Korean so i would translate if i could see the text itself... Wish the update was something other than the observer though...
Whats wrong with the observer, it was very important to the protoss in sc1? I never attacked late game without them because other people would have a few cloaked units by then.
Haha, I somehow managed to get into the Korean site, and wow, the thing looks cool! BTW, shouldn't this be posted into the news and announcements?
I like the how the sections on the observer revolve around as it moves, it adds more interest to the observer, instead of being a completely motionless object form sc 1. Can't wait for the game, the protoss get cooler with every update....except for the MS downgrade updates...
i know the observer is vital to your success (oh bloody hell portal has grown on me) but its not exciting as some other units unit and i would have preferred some other unit being updated.... aw well better than nothing i guess
I know what you mean, but it is nice to know that the observer is officially in the game. Now the wait for zerg...
I have been waiting for zerg for so long and i fear Blizzard shall never release any info on them until the last minute since they know zerg is the most anticipated race in Starcraft...
I am thincking XMas for zerg... BTW... Did you saw in the video how it appears when you are trying to build a cannon (the grid). Neat but i don't think it will be in the final release
