SC2 Beta pushed to Q1 2010

I know you guys dont want to hear this, and neither did i but i figure you should know.

According to a translation of a Russian article released at the biggest gaming expo in Russia, Chris Sigaty states the Beta has been pushed back to Q1 2010. Michael Morhaime also revealed to the Activision Blizzard investors that the game was still set to be released in 2010.

This is indeed sad news, i hope i dont ruin to many of your weekends!

And still we keep waiting.

My Russian friend can't see anything there which states the beta in the US/AUS etc comes out in 2010...

Still I'm saying I'm happy they take so long to get to the beta. There are so many gameplay mechanics and other possibilities to try out that it'd be a waste to rush the beta or the release. Plus I can buy an even better computer for the same money when the game's released

i'll say it again "a goal(finishing starcraft2) without a specific time(release date) is just a dream"

so untill blizzard stops smoking the bags of weed in their offices and sets a specific timeline of a release date they wont have to bust their *** on sc2.

look at infinity ward! kudo's to them man they release a reveal trailer for MW2 and with a release date to boot and ****ing bam a year later and you have ****ing mw2 who will sell a ****ing ****tload of copies and be game of the year. not to mention the most widely played multiplayer game for the next 2-3 years

come on blizzard! i expected better from you!

 

I have a feeling Blizzard has greater expectations from SC2 than just a flimsy GOTY award and 2 or 3 years of activity. Plus your quote is moot here because Blizzard sets a quality aim, not a deadline, which is just as good.

I laugh at you all who are freaking out over this and have nothing better to do such as Muncie16.

I will point you to all the other games that you can play that suck or only have a run time of a couple of days.

bud ive only been on this forum like 10 times in the last 3 months because of Modern warfare 2. so don't go thinking i'm obsessive over this game. i love sc2 but i'm fed up with the bull**** blizzard is pulling. end of story

exactly why i continue to say "a goal without a specific timeline is just a dream."

if blizzard said the game will be out on march 18 lets say. they would have nooo choice but to work their *** off until the game was finished. but without an exact date they can just **** around. oh WoW needs some help in this section lets go send over some of our sc2 employee's to work on it with them because Wow is a ****ing money machine off of losers

 

Why post here if you don't even consider the replies? Sorry, but you're being narrow minded in constantly saying the same thing, the same BS that doesn't apply to Blizzard at all. I suppose you also expect cats to bark.

 

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Beta pushed to Q1 2010, it would just be typical Blizzard. I'm at the point where I don't care because its gonna be "when its done" so really I have no anticipation for when its gonna come out it will just be a pleasant surprise when a release date is announced whenever that may be.

You have to keep in mind that Call of Duty is spawning little children all over the place, approximately what? One each year?

Personally, the CoD series is pretty good. But I only play each one for a little bit before going back to games being made by companies taking their time on some damn good games (Valve and Blizzard).

 

Yes, it sucks that the release keeps getting pushed back, but not having to deal with the stress of an impending release date will mean that this game will be close to perfect at launch. Blizzard could do the same thing that every other developer does these days; release a sub par product and put all of their efforts in to hyping an alright game instead of producing a great game with the intention of fixing everything with patches.

But Blizzard doesn't do that. Because they are bad ***. =]

Of course, we all remember what happened last time they tried to make a SC game... ;p
