i am in the bronze league and i have a win/loss of about 50 percent but in every match i play i am favored even against players who have played hundreds of matches so if i win a game i get 2 points and 4 points at most and if someone beats me i lose all my points so it takes 5 wins to get ten points and 1 loss and there all gone can someone explain how this happens
I dont understand, I usually get more points when i win than when i lose How can you be favored when your enemies have hundreds of games behind them?? (that wasn't meant to be offending btw =.=) but if your favored in each match its pretty obvious that you get less point for winning than you do for losing btw i've won less games than lost and still im Gold in 1v1 >.< *Me not understands*
If you lose when your favored, yes you'll lose tons of points. Playing people your favored against, from my understanding, means your MMR has dropped and your playing against baddies. W/L ratio doesn't determine anything as far as league is concerned...your MMR does. Don't worry about points, they really mean nothing. You can be promoted from any spot in your ladder.
hi there, im completely new to sc (been playing for 3 weeks). i have just one question about the ladder system, and it's related to this topic of favor and points. so, i've been noticing that most of the time, after i play a match, the point distribution appears incorrect. for example, i just played a game 5 minutes ago where my opponent was slightly favored. however, after winning, it said +3 (you were favored). all i'm wondering is, does this affect my ability to get promoted? when i reach a point where my wlr is good enough, and i start playing against people in higher leagues, what will happen? i'm afraid the system will mark my wins as if i were favored (could this possibly affect promotion?)
Promotion is not affected by your WLR, points, rank, or the way you win. Promotion is based on your MMR (a hidden rating), which changes according to your beaten opponents. The more games you win as unfavoured the better your MMR becomes and the better your chances for promotion becomes. The more games you lose as favoured the worse your MMR gets, so the chances of getting demoted increases.
