?

What do you think about the new saturation?

1. The new units and structures are better looking.

58.3%
2. The older units and structures were better looking.

4.2%
3. I'd like a combination of both.

37.5%

A combination of both would be better I think. Add that option please.

Done and done. :)
BTW, notice the Viking's new minigun effect, if you compare it to the older one.
The old one made it look like a candle.:p

Nice they changed the Viking a little then. Notice the cockpit is held up instead of coming down. And its guns are sleeker, I like.

i dont get it. only the color needs the saturation or needs to be darken not the whole graphics. now it looks flat and realistic ( like all other rts) which make it look boring to watch after a while.

the old artistic graphics was actually better IMO because you can clearly see the units and buildings. plus the effects nd details are clearer.

Yeah im going to have to agree with zeratul11 here, the metallic look (from what i can tell in those shots) has been removed from the majority of the terran and protoss units, which for me.. was one of the things which i really liked about sc2.

And idd, i felt that the only thing, colour wise that needed tweaking was the team colours.. however these seem to be the things least affected by this new "saturation" changes etc.. Forgive a gamer for being obsessed with how the art for this game is gonna turn out but.. meh i just dont want them to follow in the whole (i know its silly to even suggest this) cnc3 art style - flat, realistic.. boring after a while sorta theme..

But hey, tbh im gonna wait until monday to see these new gameplay video and screenshots.. then make judgement on the game while its alive...(and drool over zerg?)

Edit: After watching the original gameplay trailer again.. i can safely say i preferred the previous art style shown in this trailer, rather than the latest direction of theme.

I like the new units and structures better.
Just the old minerals are better than the new ones.

I prefer the new mineral patch. The old one looks plastic.

im not too sure myself...
i...i like both in a way. the old one was really unrealistic so i guess that was cool. The new one looks more realistic so tahts cool too..

i rkn, that they should only change the terrans saturation. protoss should still have that nice "shine" to them since they are that honoured-golden-"shiny" race.
i guess we just have to see when the zerg come out.

have you guys noticed that the team colour are diff for every race?
for eg. RED
the terran have that dusty,dirty,dull red.
the protoss have that bright shiny (i think its shiny...) red. and their weapons are the team colour too (eg. zealot psi blades)
and the zerg (from the pics that we have seen; colour blue [toss gameplay], and the screenshots [usually green] ) have some sorta fade out colour.

if you dont know what i mean check out the fade our colour on these mutalisks:

see their wings? the green kinda just fades out.

I think a mix between the two would be best. Right now it's a bit too dark and before it was too bright.

I think the races should have different levels of global saturation (so not just team colours but also skins). Obviously, Zerg would be the race with the least saturation because blending in with their environment is part of their fight for survival. Terran could have the new level of saturation - not too prominent, but easy to distinguish. Protoss could have the old level of saturation because it's a proud race in general which likes to boast with being highly advanced and heroic. This would further distinguish the races, which I think is still high priority if not top.

that is exactly, what i was thinking.
terran = dull
protoss = shiny, honour
zerg = fadeout adaptive race

but still terran needs some shine, and dark shadows here and there. or they would look plain and flat just like warhammer 40k(great game) but sc2 graphics artistics looks better, im not sure about now.

ure right...they need some shine on stuff.,,,,...,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.

you see, the terran looks very dull and dirty in the "dirt" terrain, which is sexy.
but in the jungle terrain they just look dull...so maybe, on less dirty terrain the terran can have some shine to their stuff??

I kinda like that idea. Have them a little grittier and dirtier in desert, volcanic, and jungle maps while they're shinier on ice, installations, and space.

I think the new one is better, much more realistic and cool, but a mix of both would be the best to make units be easier to see, especially on the new terrain.
