    Roll to Dodge! BOSS 1: ???

    So this is a game that's popular on the Bay 12 forums and Data Realms forums. I think it's pretty fun.

    The numbers on the six sided die are marked as such...
    1) Epic fail
    2) Fail
    3) Somewhat Success
    4) Success
    5) Perfect success
    6) Overshot

    Players post their actions in bold and underlined font.
    Say that Jack's action is Jump over the fence.

    If he rolls a 1, it would go like:

    Jack[1] - Jack tried to jump the fence, but he tripped while running and simply ran into the fence head-first.

    Condition(s):
    Dazed, -1 to all rolls. 2 turns left.

    If he rolls 3, it would go:

    Jack[3] - Jack jumps over the fence, but his shirt snagged on a nail, causing him to flip over while falling over the fence, hurting his back

    Injuries:
    Back pain, -1 to rolls involving running or moving around too much. 3 turns left.

    If he rolls a 6, it could go like:

    Jack[6] - Jack made the jump, but he failed to plan his landing. He hit the ground quite hard and broke his leg.

    Injuries:
    Broken right leg, -2 when using right leg. Can be splinted to negate effects. Heal in 10 turns, 5 if splinted.


    Something like that, but more interesting. You can learn abilities and that kind of stuff, you don't really have to keep it realistic. Just somewhat logical.

    Must be something about it that's fun considering the Bay 12 forums have an entire section dedicated to Roll to Dodge. :p

    I think we can start with 4 players for now.

    We need a setting. Any ideas? I have an idea if nobody else has one.

    The streets around the plaza of the four fountains in Rome?


    No reason that I mention that. It's not like I know the way around there perfectly or something.

    A Battlecruiser on the way to Chau Sara maybe, so we can have some sc2 themed action?
    Or Trafalgar Square in London?
    I dont know. Some place where something cool/odd can happen.

    Alright, I guess I'll mix them.

    Setting: Our team is currently located in an airport, past security, going to board a plane heading to a starport in Rome, where the team is to intercept or capture a battlecruiser heading to a warzone on some distant planet. The battlecruiser belongs to a mercenary organization known as "The Good Guys."

    Is that okay?

    While waiting to board the plane, i look around to see if anything of interest is nearby, if there is, pick it up.

    Make sure you put your action bold and underlined. It makes it easier to find the action through discussion and stuff.
    Yes you can describe what is going on, just make sure the action itself is bolded and underlined.

    Waiting on sniper64.

    ijffdrie/No Name[6] - You realize you need to find the plane before it leaves, so you look for the terminal and find it. On your way there, you buy a suitcase at the various stores and fill it with various items.

    Pheonix/No Name[4] - While walking to the terminal with the rest of the group, you keep an eye out for any items of use. Under a sofa you notice a little handle sticking out. You investigate and pull out a 9mm pistol! A security guard must've dropped it... somehow. Lucky you. You hide it, knowing that you will encounter resistance when trying to take the battlecrusier. Just make sure to conceal it, because things will go downhill fast if anyone else sees you with it. Better not to talk about it either.

    9mm Pistol, Standard issue, 21/21 rounds, no spare magazines.
    Conditions:

    RreaperRandom/No Name[2] - You decide that before embarking on an epic journey, you will need some awesome facial hair. With all of your will-power, you try to grow some kind of awesome moustache.
    After standing there with your eyes closed for 20 minutes, you open your eyes and feel your newly grown moustache. But something is not right... the moustache is one of those freakish French types! Also, you no longer know where the rest of the group is.

    Conditions:
    Wimpy French Moustache(-1 to all social confrontations)

    Sniper64/No Name[3] - You don't know what to do, so you just follow the others around. However, the team doesn't stay together, and you notice RreaperRandom is staying behind doing... something. When you turn around to follow the rest of the group you cannot find them, so you stay with Rreaper, hoping that he knows where to go.

    Game Event: 4 men dressed in black uniforms walk through. They look bulky, suggesting they are wearing armor despite the fact that this area is past security. They have holstered weapons. One of them is holding a PDA, sees Rreaper with his eyes closed, smiles, says something to the others, and puts it away.

    PLANE LEAVES IN 4 TURNS



    By the way, the slot system for abilities works this way. Each ability requires a certain amount of slots in your mind. You can get more slots by disabling parts of your mind, for example, you can disable your hearing for an extra slot, or your vision for 3. You may always reactivate those parts of your brain without consequence, but deactivating/reactivating abilities takes 1 turn to take effect. You can only use abilities you have active.

    For example, telekinesis would take up 2 slots, something like ergokinesis would take up 3 slots. So you cannot have both active at once, but you can turn one off and have the other active. If you want to switch them around, it is a minor action but the changes take effect next turn.
