This is good news. Not because I have such a strong attachment to the voice but because this means that Blizzard feels that he's still the best candidate and can still preserve continuity.

I'm still pissed that Glynnis Talken Campbell isn't reprising her role as Sarah Kerrigan.

does that mean they make the new jim raynor look abit less old and farty? the original voice of jim raynor will not suit some sorta old drunken face.

 

His looks won't have to change if the voice does. Remember that 11 years have passed, which means that Clotworthy can't sound as young as he did before. Add to that that he's a voice actor, meaning that he can alter his voice to some extent, for it to suit better.

 

Yea, Gasmaskguy is right about that. It's been a good 11 years since he was in the role, lets hope he still has it. I doubt it will sound excatly the same and thats not a bad thing either since the character Jim Raynor has evolved and aged as well, so I think it will fit even if he sounds a bit older. Although, it's great to see actors like that come back to a role like that after such a long time.

I bet you people are still gonna complain about the voice no matter what though because that is just how people are.

 

Agreed I think having the actors for Raynor and Mengsk back is the right move.
And I'm sure they'll have the voice and the face (or Raynor) match up.

Personally I'm loving this
Because all the other voices I'd have wanted to return have had all their SC characters killed off.

 

I am guessing there is going to be a lot of voice acting, so Robert is gonna be making some major dough here. Also w00000000t! I loved the first (who didn't) and I can hardly wait to hear more from him saying stuff like "More bear if I survive this ****!"

 

Wow. Surprising and great news.
I recall reading along time ago that Blizz decieded to use a new voice actor despite Clotworthy was more than willing to return. Something about the character being older and....and you guys know the lore.

Much better than waiting a week for a NDA to be lifted so we can hear about all the fancy new observer tools.
Really why the NDA for that horse**** other than to keep feeding us hype?

Patience BloodHawk. If we all had the "stuff all Blizz news that is not directly related to Beta release dates", well i think Blizz would pick up on this and that's all we'd hear. Just a big nothing for 6 months then beta. Personally I'm glad Blizz has ben very liberal with information about all aspects of SC2. I know many other game Devs are not so liberal with news of their up coming games. Half the time with them it's woah they are releasing a game in 2 weeks after a year's development. Gee they kept that a secret.

So in short I do not share your attitude. I am glad for all the little tidbits of info we get all the time. And take those till the beta announcement is ready.
