Road to Diamond

This thread is to connect prospective 1v1 diamond league players for some practice, evaluation and criticism.

When posting, please include your; region server, Battle.net ID, character code and race. The information will be important to those who look for specific match-up practice. This thread will also include, Hall of Fame for those who have reached the diamond league, and this week's Most Improved.
Thanks for those who participate and I hope to see many "gg" worthy plays. The Most Improved Player is not a decision made by myself, but rather the community as I will keep my ears (or my inbox^^) open for players discussing a certain player or two of their as-of-late improvements. These improvements can include, but are not limited to: ladder standings, unit-management (micro), economy management (macro), and noteworthy strategy.

To those thinking this is another "practice partner" thread, Road to Diamond is a community based thread of all ranks to; help motivate players that have reached a recent slump, connect players that are looking to have real-time analysis of their strategy and gameplay, or distinguish players purely looking for recognition and fans/followers through "gg"-worthy plays and critical/helpful analysis.
Road to Diamond community is for players with the initiative to reach out to numerous other players and host/participate in the "King of the Hill" style match-ups with 2-4 Spectators. During the matches Spectators will discuss/evaluate/criticize thus providing real-time analysis which will follow-up with post-game analysis to discuss with the other participating players. This has proven to be a very effective method as many pro/amateur diamond league players also participate in the form of "King of the Hill" games and I encourage everyone to participate in this manner.

As for those who feel lost on what to discuss in the post-game analysis, here are some of the things I pay attention to:
Build order and the efficiency of the build order
Food supply and worker count(day9 what up!)
Effective/noneffective push timings
Scouting proficiency
Unit composition
Please feel free to ask for help if you are unaware of the Spectator feature that Blizzard has developed that is available for use in custom game matches on all maps.

***As you can see the community has grown quite a bit in the last week. However I feel that the EU and the SEA Severs are quite under-represented. This is due to lack of information on my part. If members from the EU and SEA servers could inform me of popular Starcraft 2 Community websites from their respective regions that would help the community to grow tremendously. I really, really like the idea, but this is definitely the wrong section for this. Next time, post in the correct section (this belongs in Starcraft 2 Strategy Discussion, I should think). A moderator with more powers than I have should move this thread sometime in the next couple days.

sounds like a great idea i'm so down for this! dunno all my info as i'm at work but count me in for sure!

 

I like this idea. I would love to have some of my games watched and my strategies discussed. As well as learn some new things from some new players. When do we start?

JimReynolds I'm in the EU and I'd be interested in this although I have yet to fully understand the original post.

 

I think we all take turns playing versus one another, while the other guys watch, then we discuss the match

I would also like to congratulate Infinite from the NA Server on his promotion to the Platnum League.
On the side note, I would like to show support to another Road to Diamond member, Nozyneighbor, as he is participating in a tournament (which tournament I do not knowas he forgot the name =_=;; ). I wish him luck and all the best.

I'm also interrested in it as I'll start working on ranked games soonish...
Tbh my roommate spends more time playing than me as of now(we only have 1 PC that can run SC2 and a crappy laptop so he uses my account till christmas ) but I'll start working on 1vs1 again when I got time... We're together when he's on my account so I'll see any possible tells about it.

I think you messed up on him, noticed it when I was writing all of them down. Pretty sure the digits have to be 3 numbers, could be wrong though. lol

You should throw in certain sections on the list like people to look out for. Just played Drascoll in a 1v1. He's a bronze, but he's pretty beastly. Kicked my butt. D: I officially post the first Road to Diamond 1v1 Replay.
