Today we honor our dead.... T_T

This thread will serve as tribute for the units that wont be making a comeback in SC2.. Please state what unit will you miss the most and your thougts of that unit also if possible, give a brief statement on why you like/dislike that unit to make a comeback...

Personally I have my eyes on the Science Vessel.... theres gotta be more than a thousand players out there that definitely misses this one.. Theres a genuine versatility and uniqueness in this unit that just differs and outplays the new nomad, on the recent discussions with the nomad, the community is still on the state of uncertainty of wheter it will outclass its predecessor in its role as the new air support for the terran but generally the point is we are suppose to adjust through change and accept what is new.. nonetheless I still am gonna miss the ol' gay looking face of that cyborg butler... Nothing is certain anyway so im still optimistic with a small grain of hope to assume that maybe atleast a cameo or a terran campaign mission would grant it for the Vessel to appear, but if not... may it RIP ^_^

NOTE: I didnt include those units that are basically an upgraded type of new SC2 units

Corsairs were the best air units ever.
I wish they were in SC2 as the main ATA fighter and not the Phoenix

I have to agree with that, especially with the disruption web abillity w/c was like the best counter for the darkswarm tactic if you're mostly using air units at late tier... Too bad the scout and corsair are mixed as the Phoenix.. but its quite possible that those carrier's escorts would be something like corsairs w/c is a more devoted anti air unit that best supports the category of being an in the escort field..

For me, it would have to be the Corsair and Vulture.
Corsair, due to pure sexiness and the Vulture was a beautiful unit which was so versatile and had the highest capacity for direct micro skill.

Btw. You missed Medic, Defiler*, Scout, Wraith, Dragoon, Shuttle*, Goliath, Queen, Infested Terran*

    * Units which have returned with a new abilities, and or models but still retain their basic concept.

in case you havent read the note on my first post....

NOTE: I didnt include those units that are basically an upgraded type of new SC2 units

those units are not included coz they technically are still in the game with a new upgraded tech or evolved form...

Medic - medivac = still the same to me with just a transport twist
Defiler - infester = same but more unique now
Scout - phoenix = almost as the same level of power vs. air types with its missiles
    Wraith + goliath - viking = 2 birds in 1 stone
    Dragoon - stalker/immortal = think of it with a blink/shield upgrade twist
Queen - hive matriarch = check the new artworks for a possible evolution theory (queen-in-aiur-genetic-mix)
Shuttle - phase prism = theres still a transport with a new backup power system
    I. Terran - banelings/i.terran = their still there, the suicidal(baneling) i.terran w/guns but still in progress if they
will appear... but they are definitely still there and can be infested unlike the protoss w/c are quite evasive...

Have the Scourges been confirmed cut?
If so, I'll miss them the most.
I could never use them good, but they were just so cool..

Medic is a ground unit with the ability to heal, reduce range, and nullify status aliments.
Medivac is a Dropship which heals.

Defiler and Infestor are indeed pretty much the same, which is why I put a * next to it.

Scout was a costly air unit which attacked both ground and air.
Phoenix is an air unit which exclusivly attacks air and has an ability which renders it immobile after use.

Where I agree the Goliath and Wraith are pretty much fused into one being the Viking, there is still no distinction for each unit staying in Sc2, so they are not brought back as they had different roles to the Viking air and ground modes and different weapon types.

Dragoon was a single hard hitting unit with good range.
There is no Dragoon in Sc2, yes it has been split into two with added attributes and abilities which further seperates them from the Dragoon, meaning they are no longer Dragoons.

The old Queen was an air unit with only abilities, none of which the current ground unit Queen has.
They are completly different units now, the only thing that holds them together is the obvious evolutionary traits, being the Queen and a similar model. But unit-wise they are as different as the Thor to a Zergling.

Just like the Defiler and Infestor, the Phase Prism is an improved Shuttle, but they are still different units. But the * indicated that.

Infested Terrans are produced in a similar way but unit-wise they are completly different as the Sc1 Infested Terran was a Baneling and the new Infested Marine is actually an Infested Marine.

So I still think you should add all old units which are not coming back.

I'd miss the arbiter. I loved its unit design cuz of its futuristic, spaceship look.

Though the MS replaces the arbiter, I will still miss it when playing toss in sc2.

I was going to vote Reaver, but I missed and hit Arbiter.

Gawwd, Reaver. I like the Colossus and all, but Reaver was something special for me.

i have to pick my divine winds unit, AKA the kamikaze scourge, i just love how you just have to send in 2 per opposing ships most of the time, lol, and they came in sets of 2 as well, so convenient. =P

    @Psionicz

*Medic - If you personally prefer the old infantry style medic over the medivac, i wont disagree with you coz i also prefer the medic with its flare and restore ability b4, but as of now theres less purpose for restor and so as flare since this technically isnt suited for a medic but better for a scout like the dropship perhaps.. and also if you add another caster for the terrans, their just gonna be too much skillful compared to other factions coz almost each of terran unit has a unique skill on their own... but if the medic will be returning as an infantry id rather have its restore ability replaced with irradiate since it makes sense to bring the virus along with those who can heal... lorewise making sense... alot of sense

*Scout - at the main site they stated that they are new models that replaced the role for scouts and corsairs w/c were basically the strongest support anti-air fighters alongside the carrier so I just optimized for the generalization that they are a bit of fusioned mechanix with a new ability... (w/c still is anti-air that looks like the phoenix unloading mass anti-matter missiles)

*Dragoons - its almost the same as dragoons, and i believe that they are equally as strong attackers as the stlakers but just a bit more fragile than the dragoon while the Immortals are purely shockabsorbers with average attack w/c i also think wouldnt be weaker than a zealots psi blade damage... (the armor bonuses really changes every dmge rate)

*Queen - its funny how you differentiated the zergling to a thor but nonetheless, im still just trying to state that the Queen is still with us as of now but with just more appropriate skills... unlike before where its name was completely uncharacteristic of its role playing abilities...

i really would love to add more options for the poll but the maximum limit for a poll has been capped to a maximum of 10... so i just generalized which SCBW units where more untouched with SC2.. still its an exellent game though ill miss some of them.. out with the old and in with the new ^_^

miss the vulture the most... hit-and-run tactics.. one vulture could've killed 6-8 zealots or DT with ease.. and don't forget 'bout masses of zerg coming at you and with 4-5 well-placed spider mines the whole zerg army could've been halved or destroyed mostly... great unit, we will miss ya' :( "Yeah, i read ya'..... sir >:p"
