Recieved Starcraft II cannot get it to work

I recieved a hard copy of StarCraft II today. I had preordered it and it was due to arrive on tuesday but someone at the shop stuffed up and i have recieved it early. Does anyone know if i can play it prior to the release date or a way around the restriction from the online registration. (obvioualy i am aware i will not be able to play online, just the missions.) Thanks

 

I wouldn't risk it because of past experiences where I got my Wii 2 days earlier than release date by accident and when gamespot realized they took it away "until release date" but i didn't get it back for several weeks

 

Just try installing it. If it doesn't work, then there's your answer.

 

I would also report the incident to Blizzard and/or GameStop, you might get a free game out of it.

 

I wouldn't report it, but definitely see if it works (probably wont seeing as they have some form of prevention as you can see from that video of the Russian kid getting the CE)

 

Please show us this vid! I'd be happy to receive it early just to excitedly open it! LOL. So Singleplayer requires online registration? Darn that sucks.

 

They're not going to take the game away. I'm familiar with Blizzard's policies. If you report it you're more likely to get a free copy or something.

 

If we get early (i was told by gamestop that they ship it before release date so we can be assured of getting on release date), who is better to contact? Blizzard or Gamestop? At worst you would get an apology or something. Maybe Blizz will give the reporters a new skin for the Collosus!

 

lol. Blizz probably has measures against you activating it(like they do with the online download) and if you contact them they'll go: Meh.

Yeah, unless you're an expert hacker - I doubt you can get it installed / running SP.

Knowing Blizz, they won't even respond to you before release assuming you go through email. They get backed up greatly just from all the WoW customer issues. So I doubt, they'd even have a chance to take it back. I don't see how they could force you either as you have paid for it. It's your property.

Got my copy today, too. I'll install it right when its midnight on monday. BTW: Ordered via amazon(.de)

 

I believe you can install it before Tuesday, you just can't activate it until midnight. That way, you can start playing right when it's out.

 

No, i cant install it right now. Of course i already tried, but after it demanded a connection to the internet it "reminded" me that the game is not yet out and that i have to wait till the 27th to install. Nevertheless, i were already able to add it to my Battle.net account!

 

Australia (I assume a good portion of the world) gets it at midnight their time so blizz servers will hopefully come online before midnight. It would really reduce the load to instead of waiting for the maximum number of people to come online at once >>

 

I'm hoping to get mine on Monday so I can play for few hours. Go to sleep (will get barely any) and feverishly play through the single player.

 

If this happened to me and I got the game early I would take a photo of the game and email it directly to blizzard with all the details. Cause I am bloody sick and tired of damn stores thinking they can hand out games whenever they please. There is a release date for a reason. And they should stick by it. Heck I'm tempted to look online for proof of this and email Blizzard tonight.

I know, but I am really mad when this happens. If I owned a store and I found out a worker did this I would fire them on the spot. But all the employees would be well warned of this.

And the good thing is I'm sure Blizzard will not allow access to the SC2 servers until the hour of release. So owning the game early is a little pointless. Well you get to look at the box and instruction manual. But you get no game time till the correct hour. Which is very good.

 

Must be such a tease to have the game cd ,but cant actually play it.Im quite glad i didn't get it earlier.

Also that kid really needs to clean up his desktop,there were like 100 icons on it
