i have been looking at reaper a lot through both the video and the site. I can tell that they will be good for the blast charges but are they really worth it. they seem to get owned really easy. they have no health what so ever. I would rather by tanks then get reapers. They are good for absolutely nothing from my opinion. Does anyone really see a use for them???

They are worker, and base raiders. With the Jump packs they can brake in everywhere, and start to kill off the undefended parts of a base. Ther aren't expensive, so while they Kill at the main base, you could still be able to play with an other massive army.
The enemy must choose, where he loses - at economy, base or at the battlefield, while trying to defend a new expansion.

There are also a lot of topics about the reaper. Please use search, you will find the info you are looking for..

They are good for a diversion. You take the attention of the enemy inside its base, and you organize another attack somewhere else.

I personally think they're a bit too frail.
And would be badass with shotguns that have a longer range than Firebats, and with the area damage. So you could take out more workers in less time. Woo area of effect?
They wouldn't be overpowered with a bit more health either.

But I like them regardless, I'm just saying the changes would be welcome and hopefully not overpowering the unit.
Even if they're fine right now.

    Terran - Reaper.
    Protoss - Stalker.

    They are both raiders.

the reapere has a higher buildability i bet, it is prolly cheaper, and it needs the mines to counter anything too large like a building. Its attack is weak to battle the immortal's shield i tink so it seems to be a nicely balanced unit

I like the Reaper as he is, and hope he will make it to the final build.

I like this unit too, like the Thor. I don't think he needs any change.

see the charge on him are great in all but a tank could do the same thing and it has like triple the health. Reapers i could see keeping an expansion for a little bit while you transport units. Also most of the time the workers are at the back corner of the map so getting in there to take them out is hard because you have to get through all the defenses first. You could maybe use them to raid expansion but not much else. They would get owned by defenses on a main base. and for the expansion you are far enough into your tech tree to get way better things like the thor and battle cruisers and tanks. I just think they are a useless unit.

I you succeed in reaching the workers this means that the enemy has no more defense. That means thus that you have already won the mission. So .... reapers useful ?

    I like them anyway

A also like the reaper even if they are a bit lost in the current build. But if they really are cheap? I'm gonna love them! Good raiders, good for diversion, also can be used for scouting. But i just have one question though, how many mines does a reaper have? and do you guys have any idea how much damage it deals?

I think that on some maps, the reaper will be indespensible, due to the fact of middle maps. some maps do not put you in some distant corner, but place you nearer to the center, where you have no way of fully surrounding yourself with defences. the reaper will be able to find some kind of loop hole in which it can exploit. THe smae thing for corner maps as well. Not all players see the need for all around base ground defences this of course willl change with the reapers, but again they can find a loophole to exploit

In a map where you're stuck in a corner? I doubt it.
Players usually cover the cliffs or areas right below them. Atleast, that's what I do in Starcraft 1 because there's always the threat of drops.

reapears are just harrasing units... ur stupid to just send them into battle. In the beginning worker raids, perhaps bomb a few pylons/supply depots more good measure at the time. Then in late game when u have full assualt on the enemy's base, whos gonna notice these small reapers jump off the cliffs and cause havok in the more back and less defended areas of the base? I do agree its a highly specialised unit so it may only be used at certain games.... but i really do like it and hope it stays....

I think reapers will be very useful units. First of all, they can be used as harassing units. Secondly, they can be used as ambushers. If you're in a battle, you can send out the reapers behind the enemy and catch them when they're retreating. Also, i think their mine ability should be replaced with an ability that would be useful for an ambusher, like a trap of some sort (maybe spider mines, but different). They also look really awesome.

i made a thread for this idea im about to say, but say it here to

combine the Reaper and the Marauder into a single unit, a jetpack fitted infantryman that shoot grenades and carries mines, seems like a good fit. A unit that can be used for base/economy raids, ambushes and can also be used in the frontlines in support of the marines
