This unit is sick....It is unfortunate that it will replace the Carrier..R.I.P....but I like the design and how the beams align one by one. Looking forward to seeing it in the beta and how it works as the new "flagship" unit for the Protoss Fleet.

 

I just love this unit altogether. About time the toss got a siege weapon that's not as slow as a slug....still love the Reaver though!!

 

haha the article says that this unit will replace the carrier as the Protoss flagship. Although in the PC gamer magazine, they said the Star Relic would replace the carrier as the Protoss flagship. Interesting.

Well yeah, the Tempest is replacing the Carrier, but I wouldn't say it was replacing it as a Flagship...althought I was guessing the Flagship would be bigger

 

the tempest is replacing the carriers attack function, carriers werent actually designed as war vessels, they were command ships.

warp ray = protoss capital or flag airships?

maybe, it looks strong and big too. definitely a tier 3 unit.

 

yea I'm thinking its going to be an expensive unit and far up the tech tree since it looks powerful and its a "capital ship"

 

I think it costs the same as the protoss arbiter ...

this thing looks so awesome. i love how like every 6 seconds another beam is added onto the pylon/crystal thing and makes the attacking beam bigger. That's a nice touch.

Ha I knew it. Warp Ray is the successor to the carrier in terms of it's destructive power/strength.

 

it doesn't look menacing enough or big enough to be a flagship. that things' downright puny in my opinion. Well, i guess it might just be the distance of everything. The battlecruiser also looks pretty small.

 

yea its only 125 hp/75 shield

 

holy crap!!! they call that thign a flagship?

 

And the marines killed off 4 of them... although they could do that in starcraft 1 with certain air units too
